Maskaev?. almost 40 years old. gimmie a break. didnt have that killer instinct against Toney (twice), McCline. What does Peter have..I think it's 2 ko's in the last 5-6 fights. Where is the KO king?
Toney has never been stopped, he's a very tricky fighter. Against McCline, he was dealing with hand problems and a busted eardrum. Yeah, Maskaev was old(he just turned 39 at the time of the fight), but Peter dominated and stopped him in the sixth. It tool Wlad 11 rounds to stop bum ass Tony Thompson. A guy who's amateur career consisted of streetfightign.
since my original post many other fighters like andrade have been added in. And Pavlik has only been knocked down twice. Three times officially, but twice in reality. Thats not bad for someone who gets hit on the chin by power punchers. And he was down for about 3 seconds in total. Pavlik's chin is rock solid its his defence that isn't you post your top3 mine right now its Margo, Andrade, Toney
This is a good list. I think Tua should definately be in it. He's faced some big punchers and has never been down. I'm not sure if he's even been wobbled. Prime Holyfield had a helluva chin as well. Margo and Andrade get alot of props because they take so many headshots. However, I'm not sure either of them have faced many high quality fighters that can punch.
This clip shows how close Kelly came to disaster and how flustered/inept Jermain was at 'finishing' a wounded opponent. Pacman could probably have finished the guy off. Oscar for sure. if he gets in that kind of situation with BHop, he's a goner. And yet, I think Kelly learned from it all.
Considering the constant pounding he took there, I think his head stayed pretty clear. A lot of boxers would have been out of there.
good recuperation from pavlik after being hurt but i have said this countless times. watch the round from 1 minute to go and watch jermain taylor constantly clinch and hold onto pavlik grabbing him to take a breather.
I'm sure there are tons more but In no order here are a few: toney margarito johnson williams peter ruiz hopkins
Great list, I'd put Lacy further down the list as he's looked buzzed a couple of times, but I think Paul Williams deserves a mention too. The kid stood in front of Tony who is a heavy handed hitter with a crazy work rate and never looked hurt or in real trouble. But pretty much spot on imo! :good
