Update: Terence Crawford KOs David Avanesyan in 6 to increase his title fight KOs to 14, tying him with Inoue for 2nd among active fighters! Congratulations, Crawfish
Update: Inoue Naoya KOs Paul Butler in round 11 to tie as the active fighter with the most title fight KOs! He also joins the honorable mention section. Crawford is moved to 3rd among active fighters.
Inoue Naoya knocks out Stephen Fulton in 8 to move into clear first for active fighters by title fight KOs. He also moves into the top 10 all-time, being the only active fighter on that list.
I like it, I will just say that the competition is a little unfair - it's way easier to score KOs in "title" fights in the era of four titles. Any old fight can be a title fight these days, in the era of one title it was much more difficult.
I agree with you. At least, it does really highlight Joe Louis' greatness. Perhaps I should compile a 2 belt and 3 belt era list. I'd have to ask classic for names, though. Actually, I should also probably post this this list in classic in case I am missing anyone.
Terrence Crawford stops Errol Spence in 9 to move to tied #2 among active fighters, and into the honorable mentions, tied #13 all time. He is now 18-0 (15 KO) in title fights. He also has the longest active title fight KO streak, tied with Artur Beterbiev, at 8.
Naoya Inoue KOs Marlon Tapales in 10 to move from tied 10th place to tied 6th place with a total of 17 KOs.
The TKOs count the same as KOs win it gets published for overall record count right? Also a title fight is when a belt is always at stake. Thus, any time a champion fights(unless he vacates the belt), it will be a title fight because he will have to defend his belt.
