Translation: Juan Manuel Marquez Talks Training Camp, Strategy, & Weight

As usual, Juan Manuel is a 100% ready and confident. Follows through his last training camp working on his power and speed which made him almost a full grown up welterweight. Fight is going to be interesting if he can maintain the speed with all those muscles.
One thing is for sure though, fight is going to be another close one but I can see Juan Manuel winning this one.

 

So Juan has the same theory as me that they're trying to use the weight again in their favor. I like that Juan is planning on coming in light though. I was a little worried that the added muscle has slowed him down based off his last fight, but I think he'll be good

Wonder if Pacquiao will weighin heavier as his arm punches were'nt moving Marquez last time?

I'm actually thinking if Pacquiao is going to come out aggressive and force the issue, it benefits him to come in a few pounds heavier and be able to absorb Marquez' punches better and see if that does'nt make him so timid to let his hands fly.

I can see what you're saying cause Pac does seem to get picked apart midrange. The problem with going all out is that it doesn't seem to work for Pac either. You see this in the first and second fight and its why team Pac's strategy was to box Marquez going in to the third fight. I do however think that would be his best chance as it might force Marquez to trade and get careless. By now though, Marquez knows what he can and can't get away with and I can't really see what Pac can do differently. I see Marquez giving him another boxing lesson and finally getting his deserved win.

 

Marquez said it in Tazo's translation clip, if Pacquao blitzes it plays right into his hands and make it easier to land his combinations.

Roach's gameplan to have Pacquiao wait for Marquez and try to himself become the counterpuncher was the one I'd have chosen for Pacquiao as well. Wait and counterpunch the slower fighter.

It did'nt work however. Marquez was to sharp mentally and was up to from the start what Pacquiao was trying to do and was fully prepared for it.

Pacquiao has pretty much tried everything on Marquez and the only time he's had any success outside of the 1st round in fight 1, was when Marquez would get greedy and want to punish Pacquiao before it was time.

You're pretty much spot on, outside of Marquez getting overly aggressive, only fathertime and Marquez all of a sudden looking his age and very slow canp Pacquiao legitly win here.

 

I think Pac is going to come out swinging for this fight, as he had better success than his strategy in the third fight, but Marquez has fought that Pac twice already and has him figured out. I remember seeing a interview with roach after the third fight were he says his gameplans haven't been working and he doesn't know what else to try.

I agree that only if age suddenly catches up with Marquez will Pac have a chance, but from what I've seen from Marquezs training, that looks highly unlikely :good

:huh no like Juan said, Pac team is hoping that Juan comes in heavy and is why they made the limit 147. Read what Juan said, it's his interpretation.

And I wanted the third fight and this fight at 140.

 

Because the higher the weight, the more muscle Manny can add to his frame. Rehydrating to a weight and building towards that weight throughout camp are two different things. JMM asked for 142 initially. At 147, Manny is less restricted, so it's logical they'd feel JMM has to compete in that area to some degree.

Koncz even admitted in a video, "hopefully the weight slows him down."
