I think that the best boxing venue on the planet is The Thomas and Mack Centre in Las Vegas..... In Britain it has to be the M.E.N Arena... but been a Manc I could be accused of been biased...:nut

Your not biased No Mas not only is it the best in Britain its also got the best atmosphere too. I went to New York last year and did a tour of M.S.G (highly recommended) and the guy showing us around there was saying that its pretty much second best in the world in most things to the MEN. The MEN has the bigger capacity (I actually think for a boxing event they can get 21000 which is the biggest indoor in the world) they have the most ticket sales per year for all events (MSG is second) in the world. For a sports event they had the most noice (recorded db's) (think it was for the Hatton/Tsyzu fight)

Anyway this man who was a paid member of staff at MSG was basically saying, for facts and figure the MEN is the best/most popular indoor arena in the World

Interesting point, but forget ticket sales/events etc. the MEN just doesn't have the magic of MSG, and probably never will. Its a fairly ugly building with little character, not much legroom and seems a bit dated now, especially compared to the (in my eyes superior) O2. No doubt the atmosphere at the MEN is great though, I'd have loved to have been there for Hatton v Tszyu.

In my eyes, statistic shouldn't count towards how good an arena is viewed. You can have all the big fights in Vegas, but there's something about the MSG that won't be replicated anywhere else.

Chris Finch - Fair enough mate. Thats why when I went to New York I was interested in nothing else until i'd been there !! Would love to have visited the last one. I thought it was class that the front doors were just like another shop entrance :) From the outside it looked like maybe a cinema/theatre at the biggest :good

I'm moving to Nottingham in early October and I've got tickets. Block 5 for me. I'm informed its just above where the boxers will walk out, so should be decent seats and its close to the ring.
