Lol, bollocks. Morrison struggled to stop Joe Hipp and totally shot, chinny Carl Williams. His "ATG" power was not enough to take out a guy in Bent who was eventually determined to already have had brain damage. When he was on the juice, he had a good, quality hook, especially to the body. His power was not special in any way. He was the Deontay Wilder of his time, with wildly, comically overrated power for killing a few zombies.
Nah, I got a far better idea than you. Tommy Morrison definitely had great power, especially his hooks, but top 10 ATG? Lol, ****ing beat feet dickhead and keep it movin'.
nah your clueless like 99% on here when engaging me...only thing moving is you...and pointless discussion about you not knowing what you are talking about...lol
Lol half these pukes on here like to scoff at Morrison but the guy had wicked pop. Especially in that left hook. No many seriously hurt Purrity and Morrison had him out on his feet. Mercer said Tommy hit him harder than anyone he ever faced.
Ya....... Kid -- sober up, get to an AA meeting, get a sponsor, seek out help and treatment for your autism and get yourself together. And you clearly have multiple personality disorders. Like I said -- keep it movin'.
Come on brother, I don't think many people would scoff at him overall as a fighter or at his career, and I agree, he had wicked dynamite in his hands and I think most here would agree with that too, just not top 10 ATG.
Sorry but Tommy Morrison seems to get overrated on here by a long mile. Lost and drew to fighters elite fighters should be beating, got dropped of fighters he shouldn't be getting dropped off and his best wins are over Ruddock (another overrated fighter) and old fighters in Foreman, Williams etc. However he did have excellent power but never in this world was it top 10 ATG level. As for Trey Morrison he's yet to fight a top 100 opponent yet some idiot...*cough, cough* @GALVATRON thinks he's the future of the division. He'll get found out the minute he steps up to top 50 opponent.
As far as just sheer power... who hit harder than Morrison?? Not pound for pound here, just raw cracking ability. Especially when he really sat on his shots and dug in. As far as just sheer power, and this is in no order... 1) Wladimir Klitschko 2) Shavers 3) Tua 4) Marciano 5) Foreman 6) Lennox Lewis 7) Morrison 8) Tyson
Yep a couple of times. But was outboxed other than that. Morrison was kind of like a HW Trinidad. Dropped a bunch but had a lot of heart and came back to win more often than not. Ruddock dropped Morrison too but we know how that went.
Hey buddy I dont want you to think I'm ignoring you, I just saw this post but have to get up for work in 3 1/2 hours so gonna try to get some sleep in but ill analyze and answer when I'm on my way to work in the morning. Who knows man, maybe you'll make a believer outta me.
Lol at people jumping on the Morrison band wagon. Haven't we learned by now that the son more often than not isn't as good as the father if the father was successful. Look at Marvis Frazier, Chavez Jr, Eubank Jr, Conor Benn. As for Tommy being a top 10 ATG puncher, that might be a stretch, there have been a lot of big punchers. Even during his own era there were a lot of guys that hit as hard if not harder. Old Foreman - Tommy refused to stand and trade with Big bad George, he knew who the puncher was here and it wasn't him. Tyson - Power and speed in both hands, could take you out with one punch or blitz you with a combo. Lewis - Big, big puncher the KO of Ruddock was shocking. Ruddock - Huge puncher with his smash, shame it's all he had. Sure Tommy beat him but in terms of power not much to separate them. Bruno - Another big puncher, wobbled iron chinned Tyson with his weaker hand, pole axed a lot of fighters with his right hand. McCall - flawed fighter, but he had a hell of a right hand to go with that chin. From the Lewis KO to the comeback KO vs Akinwande he could end a fight with one punch if he could land it. So Tommy might not of even been top 5 in terms of power in his own era, yet he's top 10 all time for power? Seems a stretch when you have Tua, Shavers, Liston, Louis, Wlad, Haye, Sanders, Bear, Dempsey, Marciano etc.
You left out Mike Tyson. And Butterbean. Lol... (No, seriously.) But a lot of those classic fighters were mainly fighting opponents who weigh 210 lbs or less. I seriously doubt that Marciano, for instance, hit harder than Morrison. He maybe was faster, (better at catching his opponent off guard) and more relentless, but actual punch power? I don't see how that's possible. The man was basically a cruiserweight. It's an old argument, with no possible resolution. Regardless, Morrison's hook was insane. I'd be willing to put just that hook into the top 10.
