When have you ever seen Clottey even wobbled in the ring? Last time I checked, Tito doesn't have a 100% KO ratio. He faced a guy who had a similar defense to Clottey and he landed in the single digits every round. I highly doubt he would stop Clottey unless he gets a bogus stoppage from the refs.
When was the last time he faced a fighter like Tito? Comparing Winky to Clottey because both use a high guard is a pretty inept comparison in my book, given the weight, stage of Tito's career, and quality of fighter.
Some people tend to forget how strong Tito was at welterweight. He was fast and powerful, had KO power in both hands and a decent chin. I think he would KO most of those in your list.
Oh yeah for the guys picking Williams, if he was stupid enough to trade with Margo in the 11th and nearly get put down for it knowing full well he was winning the fight what makes you think he wouldn't do something similar against Tito. And who on earth fought toe to toe with Tito and didn't pay the price? You guys are HIGHLY underrating his power. I don't care who it is in the history of the sport, at 154 and below trading with Tito is going to result in an early night.
Agree with a lot of this, only things I would change would be, UD against Clottey and I'm leaning towards Marg over a SD but couldnt argue with an SD for Tito. One thing, that would have been an unbelievable fight!
So Clottey and Cotto would win a UD against Tito, that's funny. Both are too small for Trinidad, Clottey's offense workrate is too low, and Cotto even though he is a warrior, Tito would have kept him at a distance. Prime Tito's stamina/power at WW was out of this world.
It doesn't matter, he's solid defensively and has a great chin. Guys like that don't get knocked out very easily. Tito isn't some cyborg who will knock anyone out. He landed in the single digits every round. Even at his best, he wouldn't have done much better in terms of penetrating Winky's guard.
