[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Cruiserweight Troy Ross, winner of Season 4 of The Contender television series, has called out IBO Champion Danny Green describing him as a fraud. “He defended his title against a guy who hadn’t fought in nearly 3 years last week, who was a light heavyweight that had retired on medical grounds,” stated Ross. “In his previous defense he pulled the same act dragging a middleweight who had fought one solitary round in 2 years in Manny Siacca? To add further insult he calls Paul Briggs a dog and humiliates him by hurling insults from inside the ring! I saw it on youtube and couldn’t believe it. In America he would be lucky to leave the ring alive with a low act like that – but in this case the commissions would never allow a farce like that to happen here in the first place.”
Contender Executive Producer Jeff Wald added, “It was sad to see Paul Briggs lured out of retirement and treated in the manner he was. Giving him little time to prepare when he hasn’t fought in 3 years is one thing but to then add to it by reducing the weight limit like that was simply insulting. The message is loud and clear – anywhere anytime Danny. Troy is happy to come to your backyard and knock you out in your home country. It’s sure to generate plenty of revenue because from what we are hearing over hear it looks like the Australian public will be happy to pay to see you knocked out…here is your golden opportunity to prove to Australia you are a true champion. I’m guessing he will convert to wrestling or competitive table tennis before he will enter the ring with Troy.

Green wont ever fight someone at the cruiserweight limit let alone a good cruiserweight.

 

he won't fight a live body at any weight other than a Mundine rematch to cash in and retire again

 

Yep, the fight was a farce... BUT, not nearly as farcical as those underlined words.

 

C'mon Danny step up mate, we all know Mundine won't and you're accused of bagging him, so this is your chance.

Actually Danny, i don't really like you but if you take on a Dawson, Huck, Ross etc the elite then as an Aussie i'm prepared to cheer for you if the fight happens.

Certainly exerts a certain amount of positive pressure Danny Green's way - will be interesting to hear how/if he responds.

It's amazing what can happen within 12 months in boxing. Green's gone from the poster boy to whipping boy pretty quickly. It's no great surprise though, at his age it's solely about the money with not much regard to the repercussions to the sport. It all sounds a bit too familiar

 

For sure he'l say he asked for too much money. Then green will find some over the hill fighter and bank another 800k.

 

Sad thing is that I think Danny has a better chance at beating alot more fighters today than Mundine has.

Danny just go beat the **** out of Ross please.
