Hatton cheated. period. The ref was ****. The only thing he didn't do is pick up a chair from ringside and bash KT over the head with it.

A goddam crime and a shame to see a great ATG like KT have to go out to a fighter of Ricky's level, basically rabbit punched, low blowed and elbowed into retirement, this is why you don't go fight in someone's backyard.

Kostya did try to fight on the inside. He even said it in the post-fight when asked why in the early rounds he didn't move like his corner was asking him to.

'I thought you want to fight like this? [on the inside] ... ok, let's fight like this'

Australian commentator Paul Uphill (think that's his name) even said Tszyu had mentioned wanting to prove a point by finishing Hatton with a bodyshot.

I think Tszyu under-estimated Hatton, didn't account for the conditions he'd be fighting under, over-estimated his own stamina and ring-rust ... and paid the consequences as the fight wore on.

Hatton did some rough stuff that was borderline illegal, the head-first, arm yanking and a few nods to the ref after a few cliches in particular were concerning ... but in the end ... Tsyzu came for a paycheck ... Hatton came for a win.

Different motivations showed. Hatton was going to do whatever it took to win. If I was a Hatton fan, I'd probably applaud his fortitude. As a Tszyu fan ... I wanted to see a more neutral fight ... but heh, it happened.

I was more impressed with Tszyu's humble post-fight speech than anything else.
