If Jeff Fenech had demanded neutral judges in Las Vegas he would’ve gotten the rightful decision over Uncle Azumah and gone down in history as a 4 weight world champion.
I'm still sitting here all this time later wondering why they didn't try to take the draw at the end of the fourth against Fundora, which they would have got. It completely changed Tim's trajectory. I don't give a **** how brave he is to have fought on. That was a horrible business decision. Boxing is a business.
I respect Tim’s braveness but agree it was a stupid decision. Tszyu was doing very well early in that fight and I reckon with a full camp to prepare for Fundora Tim would’ve dismantled him in a rematch.
To be fair to Spencer apparently it was written in the contract that he would get neutral judges and then come fight time that wasn't happening so he insisted. Only fair but foreign fighters do get screwed in the US.
The ringside doctor should have stopped it too. Absolute disgrace that fight was allowed to continue round after round with Tszyu unable to see and almost drowning in his own blood.
That Fenech was finally awarded a belt for that ‘draw’ many years later only further emphasises what a disgraceful decision it was on the night.
The judges were neutral it’s not as if it was 3 Ghanaian’s. Anyway Uncle Azumah did not care about judge# for the rematch because not only would they not be needed we came to take Fenech’s soul which we did. History books and facts show Nelson is superior to Fenech. Nothing like beating a guy in his hometown.
I love Jeff Fenech and to be fair unlike some of his fans took his beating and loss like a man. Therefore in respect the African way when respecting your elders I will henceforth refer to Jeff Fenech as Uncle Jeff. However Uncle Jeff did not win the first fight in Las Vegas and numerous lies will never change that. All that happened in Vegas was Uncle Azumah Nelson the Great was not 100% due to contracting malaria. In the rematch Uncle Jeff felt the full power of the terrible terror from Africa and the Thunder from down under was no match for it. On a separate note I once learned that Uncle Jeff knocked out a 20 stone bouncer in Las Vegas I believe. Did you hear about this? Please give my love to Uncle Jeff and assure him of my love and that of my African compatriots. BUKOM FIRE.
