It struck me that Fury didn't rubbish whytes claim to a title shot initially. Whyte also talked to top rank when he was touting himself in the US. Not sure if this helps Whyte, I think Fury beats him and he wouldn't get his title shot or the kind of money he turned down for the AJ fight? I see how this helps Fury. I think he can beat Whyte and that should help him in the rankings across several bodies. It would be a good scalp and bolster his claims to be the true challenger to AJ. Don't think this helpful to Hearn though. He wants winning the Rivas fight to make whyte mandatory and increase the pressure on wilder. This could remove one of his pieces from the board.
Hearn isn’t stupid, he knows he isn’t getting that wish. If Whyte - fury doesn’t happen he’ll be fighting somebody else for the final eliminator.
