    Great video Rummy…

The thing with Fury is his mental illness makes him his own worst enemy as you’ve stated and it also makes him very self destructive. As for the last fight I watched it again and it was two things that I noticed. Francis did better then expected and Fury was worse then expected which made Francis look better. It looked as if Fury did nothing to prepare for him, he looked badly out of shape and badly out of sorts with no real desire to be there. I don’t know if he just had no motivation for it, didn’t prepare, or Francis really was so much better than anticipated. Fury has shown in the past that he often fights to the level of his opposition and will struggle with people he shouldn’t struggle with because of lack of motivation. But if it is a case that he is declining rapidly then Usyk will most likely get the win. But if he is fully focused and prepared then Usyk will have his hands full on the night of the fight. That’s the thing with Fury at times you just don’t know who is going to show up, the guy with all the talent and promise in the world, or the gluttonous self destructive fat guy.

I was thinking in the lead up that Tyson has never fought an opponent like this before from a size and strength perspective, 6'4 and 270lbs of sheer muscle. I think that was Tyson’s problem more so than having an off night skill wise.

Tyson was landing, I thought he was landing quite often but it was literally having zero affect on Ngannou, it's like he was connecting with reinforced concrete, combined with Ngannou’s elite combat skills it made for shocking viewing for many.

Ultimately, Tyson didn’t train and prepare to fight a tank.

Boxing matches which had people writing "MMA fighter" Ngannou off:

    - Mercer-Sylvia

    - Mayweather-McGregor

    - Paul vs Askren/Woodley/Silva/Diaz

    These were all big/noteworthy events.

However, there have been other fights between MMA fighters and boxers (heavyweight fights, which are much more relevant) which have gone under the radar but had the opposite result where the MMA fighter won:

2-0 Tuivasa (MMA record 15-6, MMA/combat sports debut 21 months prior) vs 3-0 Nasio (stopped in 1 by Tuivasa, with the only other man to stop Nasio in 16 pro fights being 10-0 McKean in 6)

0-2-1 Hunt (MMA record 13-14-1, 5'10, 48 years old) vs 9-0 Williams (beat Botha, Welliver)

2-0 Hardy (MMA record 7-5, 6.5 years striking experience) vs 14-1 Neely (only stopped by Hardy across six TCL one rounders). As of October 29th 2023, UFC reject 3-0 Hardy is ranked as the 94th (out of 1424) best active heavyweight boxer in the world and the 20th in America (out of 370) by Boxrec

26-0 Maldonado (MMA record 28-17) had been KO’d in 35 seconds by Miocic in MMA but he went on to go the 10 round distance with Rivas and Takam in boxing. By contrast, Miocic wasn’t able to seriously hurt, drop or stop Ngannou over two fights and 36 minutes in 4oz gloves, despite landing 82 strikes (UFC stats)
