It was a presentable matchup. God knows the WWE have had a lot worse. Fury actually wrestled a bit. It was better than Lesnar v CainV anyway.

Money in the bank, profile raised and back to boxing now. The door is open for WWE when he retires from boxing and if that's after his contracted three fights, all credit to him. Wilder x2 and the winner of AJ/Ruiz would be a fantastic way to sign off.

It's very easy for couch potatoes to say Fury should do this, this and this but they're not the ones enduring extremely tough training camps and punches to the head. Fury had tough fights on the way up, he wasn't handed his rise, he had to work for it. He was matched in fights that he was supposed to lose. Chisora 1 for example. He had a war with Steve Cunningham, took Deontay Wilders best shots and most recently had a war with Otto Wallin. He's signed to fight the hardest hitter in the sport another two times. It's a dangerous sport. I say beat Wilder twice, beat the AJ/Ruiz winner and get out with your health intact and go for the wrestling career while he's still young. If he takes those three fights, he owes the sport nothing else.

 

If Fury wins he's definitely P4P #1.

 

Fury actually did a couple of basic wrestling moves which is more than I expected. Was a laugh.

 

He's probably burnt that bridge already by not selling Braun's powerslam after the match. Strowman looked legitimately pissed (understandably).

I doubt Fury is that bothered, and to be honest I don't think pro wrestling would be a good career move for him for a lot of reasons. Still a bit of a dick move though.

 

They wouldn't have him winning if it was a one off, Vince and Tyson must have future plans.

 

I noticed that at the end too. I wouldnt do pro wrestling permanently if I was Fury buy for having 3 weeks of training he actually did fairly well, and it's a door he could leave open for the odd appearance and paycheck, after he made strowman look bad at the end they won't rush to bring him back.

 

Absolutely, it's the most cringe worthy thing you'll see. A bunch of roided up stuntmen in cheaply acted pantomime sketches.

 

I don't watch wrestling but if I did, you thinking I'm "not cool" for it would just not concern me at all.

 

Used to watch it, it's not that bad. The WWE is a bit watershed these days compared to the peak of the 90's but some of the independent circuits but on some genuinely entertaining shows. It's a bit like watching old action movie, except there's an actual chance you'll see someone injured.

"After he made Strowman look bad". Do adults really believe there's any spontaneity in wrestling? Wtf?

 

Anyone that gives a crap about Fury should hope that he pursues this or something similar when his boxing days are done.

Even those with the most rudimentary understanding of mental health issues and Fury’s in particular would be right to have serious concerns over his wellbeing post retirement.

I wanted to see strowman do a bit of aerial with fury but it never happened,

He could snap fury in half and launch him around the ring if he wanted too... Or if it was in the script, shame it wasn't Lol

 

People can and do go off script. Fury would have been told to "act hurt" and he didn't. Strowman looked weak as a result. He's one of their top guys.
