Take that as a no. I'm not bothered by people calling it a bad fight, but blaming Fury and being disrespectful towards him (most ppl on here are) is out of order IMO.
Although this fight does little for Fury's progression, it may give him a little more exposure to an American audience, Vinny is still a bit of a cult fighter in the states, and is usually in pretty exciting scraps. I'm quite pleased with the match-up actually, it's bound to be exciting as long as it lasts!
In what way is this fight acceptable considering Fury has already beaten Chisora? How exactly is Fury going to learn anything from this when he's already won a wide UD over a guy far superior to Maddalone?
Whilst I would say that Tyson can only fight what's put in with him, even Chisora's most ardent critics must surely acknowledge that when he fought Fury he was far from his best form (completely his own fault), but I do feel the result perhaps flattered Tyson at that stage of his career somewhat. But a win is a win.......... I would like to see Tyson tested against a bigger, more established name, but I do struggle to come up with many suitable/realistic/achievable names. I would like to see him face the winner of the upcoming Prizefighter, or perhaps the winner of Haye/Chisora; I just hope his contract with Channel 5 does not prove to restrictive (as it possibly has with David Price and Sky). Basically for me it boils down to this................... Would I like to see Tyson fight someone 'better'? ...............Yes! Do I particularly rate the proposed opponent? ...............No! Do I think that despite the above, it still has the makings of an exciting, TV friendly scrap?........................................................Yes! Will I be watching it?...................................Yes!
Decent fight for Tyson at this stage, people expect too much, its a decent learning fight and Vinny is at least on the same level as Martin Rogan.
Looking at footage of the guy he does come to fight but ultimately Fury should finish him within six. Clearly Fury is being built as a knockout machine/entertainer by Henessey which is no bad thing I guess, he's still young. One thing that is encouraging is that he actually seems to be training properly for fights now- looks in good shape.
I didn't remember him going down against firtha Oh well he is what he is, fun to watch but hardly world class
did'nt fury beat chisora about a year ago? fury has taken five steps back since then, this is **** poor! i hope he turns up wearing a big nappy, talk about being pampered.
