He shouldn't have been he had no good wins. And lost to Parker 2016. Now time has gone by we know exactly how good Ruiz is, gift decision against Jarrell Miller, outboxed by ancient Ortiz. Struggling with shot Arreola and can't even stop him. Not top 10.

This was debatable for a while but after joshua lost to Usyk twice and got smoked by Dubois it's quite hard to defend the bodybuilder and if Fury beats Usyk it's a wrap.

If you fellas want to go by bare minimum technicalities, then yes. The fact your using this to prop up AJ though is rather telling. I don't personally consider an immediate rematch with someone who wasn't even in the top ten to begin with as "defeating a reigning champion"

Beating "reigning champions" like Martin and Ruiz means next to nothing compared to beating long reigning champions Wlad and Wilder. AJ gets credit for the Parker victory (he at least had a handful of defences), and that win has aged well. Martin and Ruiz not so much.

The only thing making up AJ's resume up is a bunch of high profile loses.

Exactly the point I was making with Charles Martin. The bragging rights in beating a guy like him without a single top level win to his name are minimal.

In the age of way too many championship belts, Martin lucked in on fighting for a vacant belt and then lucked in on his opponent getting injured. As I said earlier, his first challenger was going to get his belt and it happened to be Joshua.

To be fair Ruiz since losing to Joshua has only had 3 fights in 5 years so the inactivity has definitely hurt him.

I'm not saying that isn't Ruiz's fault it is because after his big win vs Joshua he squandered his big opportunity by having no motivation kind of like Douglas after Tyson.

I still think Ruiz was talented and a genuine top 10 Heavyweight he had very quick hands and a sturdy chin the problem is he has no dedication and the inactivity along with the lack of motivation as i said has basically finished him as a serious contender.

Ruiz went into the Joshua fight ranked WBA #5, WBO #11, IBF #14, without a single top level win to his name and was a 25/1 underdog.

If Ruiz attained RING #3 it was only because he beat Joshua.

So any claim of kudos for Joshua beating the RING #3 are artificially inflated by the fact that Ruiz was only #3 because he beat Joshua in his previous fight.

They both beat Klitschko. Fury's trilogy with Wilder trumps Joshua's wins over Parker, Povetkin, Ruiz II.

I don't care. Like I said, for me, AJ didn't beat any proper champions and Fury beat one. It's just that people aren't consistent discussing the topic showing their biases.

    Ruiz shouldn't have been?
Bakole lost to Hunter but is now in the top 10 for beating Anderson
Are you thinking Bakole shouldn't be for that impressive win because he lost to Hunter some years ago who hasn't achieved as much as Parker?
    Really?

You missed the point I was making
I said previously that I'm not claiming it to be an atg victory but said I think it was a decent win based on the manner of victory when you look at Joshua's win over Martin compared to other top 10 HWs Like Anderson, Ortiz, Kownacki etc and that Martin is still arguably Ortizs best win
Also Martin was able to beat another title challenger like Washington
Yet Joshua won in 2 convincing rounds
He didn't have the back and forth battle like some other top 10 HWs

    This

Ive been a Fury fan and not been a fan of Joshua but like to be as consistent as possible and that seems an issue to me in how inconsistent the respective fans are

    With what you said above
Problem Joshua had was Fury beat Klitschko (champion) but then didn't fight for a long time so Joshua could not have fought the champion. There wasn't one in effect at that time.
Wladimir was rated number 1 so was the highest rated active fighter Joshua could face.
I don't know what else Joshua could do other than try and collect the titles and to be fair he did win the WBA, WBO and IBF titles over 3 different fights rather than winning them in just 1 fight

Personally I'm not sure why Bakole is rated so highly. Feels premature to me. I'd like to see him against Zhang, Joyce or Chisora to see how he performs.
