I think there is two distinct Mike Tysons. He is obviously a person who was massively influenced by the people around him, both positively and negatively. The younger Tyson was programmed to respect the sport and what it took to stay at the top.

The Tyson after the Spinks fight returned to his street mentality and was more caught up in the windfalls of success rather than his boxing legacy.

Those who understand how boxing works will always recognize that he had all the talent in the world but not the resolve to channel it properly. Even though he still achieved all time great status, he is probably one of the biggest wastes of talent in the sport.

I think a young Tyson was one of the best fighters i have ever seen but he obviously had a mental weakness in fights ala the Holyfield incident.

I think know hes honest and has become wiser in age (or lets hope so) so whos to say he cant help do more for the sport as being one of the most recognisable men on the planet. Who knows?
