Have you seen Frazier #1? I've only seen clips inlcuding the KD's (needless to say they look nothing like Mendoza describes them).

Definitely feasible. Bonavena would see this as his best chance and would use it.

Tyson's speed and explosivness too much for Oscar, who was there to be hit

Nobody and i mean nobody stands in front of Tyson. Holyfield didnt do it, neither did Douglas.

I dont know how much punishment Bonavena would take, or when the fight would end, but Bonavena has NO chance of winning.
    (unless something freaky happens)

However i dont see Tyson getting 'frustrated' at pounding the **** out of Oscar. it was guys who wouldnt stand and fight which caused Tyson to get frustrated (Smith/Tucker)

I think what Frank means is, with a 10-point system, Bonavena would've won.

The judges scorecards for their first meeting were 6-4, 5-5 & 5-4.

With a 10-points system & the two knockdowns, that would translate to 94-94, 95-93, & 94-93... In favour of Bonavena by MD.

Fair point .. important to note Frazier was in his , I believe, 13th pro fight ... a pretty tough opponent for such a young fighter ...

I don't give Oscar any chance. He stood toe-to-toe with his opponents, and against lighting fast bomber like Tyson, that's suicide.

The Holyfield match doesn't tell us much, in my opinion, because it took place when Tyson was well beyond his prime. Tyson just wasn't moving his head as much in 1996 compared to the old days. Also, Holyfield was that much better than Bonavena.

Tyson stops Bonavena within one to six rounds.

Oscar's awkwardness and combination of strength and underrated boxing skills (as evidenced in the Chuvalo fight) allow him to put up a good fight. In a 15 round fight, which Tyson never did, he would have a chance at an upset.

Everything Oscar can do Tyson can do better, he is faster, more explosive, a better two handed puncher ,and a better boxer. Oscar gets a bad beating.

If Bonavena applied a lot of clinching and holding, then he might have a chance.
