I would never bet on Tyson against any skilled big.

There is not a shred of evidence that suggest he would be successful yet there is a ton that shows he would always struggle or lose everytime.

    Stylistic nightmare, huh?

When you break it down, meaning if both fighters had to fall back on a style if they were in a life and death fight, Vitali is a relatively immobile 1-2 slugger with a determined will to win and and thudding power in both hands. And Mike Tyson is perhaps the greatest pressure fighting heavyweight of all time, with the greatest combination of speed and power in history.

Generally if you break it down to the basics, a slugger is the worst style for a volume puncher, but in this particular case, theoretically, (meaning anything can happen), Klitschko does not possess the tools necessary for dismantling Tyson.

Klitschko would obviously have the advantage in height and in reach, and it would be Mike and not him that would have to set the tempo of the fight in order to win, so as far as the direction of the fight plays out, that falls almost soley in Mike's hands.

Meaning, if Mike brings the fight right at Klitschko from the begging he likely wins the fight, if Mike doesn't bring the fight to Klitschko he will likely lose the fight.

When you look at Vitali, he isn't exactly fleet footed, but he isn't a complete stiff either. Vitali has a powerful jab and a right hand that can stop just about any fighter in their tracks. That's what Vitali has going for him. He also has a certain awkwardness, (holding his left hand low), which more or less makes him a left hook right hand type of fighter, which is more or less a defensive style which suits him well considering his height, but holding his left hand low against a fighter with a powerful right hand is not only dangerous, but stupid.

And if you look at several Mike Tyson tapes, a lot of the fighters he faced were mimicking Holmes and Ali, aka attempting to be relatively fleet footed, boxers, boxer-punchers. Even when THEY, held their left hand low you could see that Mike Tyson's explosiveness chopped several of them down.

And while Mike Tyson supposedly struggled against Big Men, a myth perpetuated by people that have never stepped foot in the ring, generally, it's becuase the taller fighters who took on boxer type attributes ran from the man, or clinched when close and it made it difficult for Mike to catch up with them enough to knock them out. In essence, they did just enough to survive the fight.

While it is true that volume punchers at the elite level often thrive against these boxer types and have trouble with sluggers, aka Vitali, the sluggers need the weapons to use against the volume punchers, and it all starts with DEFENSE.

The fact is that Vitali has been feasting off a lot of overweight, immobile heavies, especially the pressure fighters which have allowed him to not have to adapt to them defensively. Case in point, Sam Peter.

Sam Peter was grossly overweight, had no jab to speak of, and attrocious headmovement. This meant that he was a walking target that Klitschko could simply T-off on and then step to the side, while Peter didn't have the jab to throw Klistchko's rythm off nor the hooks to capitalize on Klitschko's defensive tendencies.

What are these tendencies? Well, for one, his height and the inability of heavyweights today to get to him, have led to have a tendency to lean back and away from punches, especially the jab. Mike Tyson, who had a great jab of his own and had no problem with jabbing taller men, nor throwing a hook off the jab would capitalize on this by jabbing, getting in close, and throwing a hook into Klitschko's head which would lean back and right into the oncoming hook.

The fact that Klitschko holds his hand low, and unless ya'll have been living in a box suckin eachother's dicks, the fact that Mike Tyson had one ridiculous right hook, added to Klitschko's relative immobility, would mean that his face would be totally exposed to a Mike Tyson power punch, which to me was his bread and butter because he could take down any man with it.

And considering Klitschko's lack of a Foreman type uppercut, who truly would have a terrible style for Mike, Klitschko wouldn't have much of a defense for Tyson when Tyson gets inside, which he would because if you have ever watched him fight you'd see that he was a MASTER of ducking straight punches, and has a fast, popping jab that would make Klitschko miss and put him off balance.

So what does this mean exactly? It means that Klitschko will have to fight at a pace that he's not used to, tire himself out by missing his straight punches, and then have to keep his left arm up high, (again putting him out of his comfort zone), until finally, inevitably Mike knocks him out because Klitschko won't have the mobility to get away from Mike once Mike is on him.

I will give Klitschko the credit though of being very tough and having an excellent chin, so perhaps this fight would make it to about the 6th, 7th, or even 8th round, but eventually Klitschko would tire from missing punches and holding his left hand up, generally just being out of his comfort zone, and be worn down from the body punches that Mike throws, and especially since the elder Klitschko would rather fight than clinch, he would go down from too much punishment.

    Wow.

I disagree with the notion that Vitali would fall so early (or fall at all, actually). But this is a much better post than I thought you capable of.

A prime Tyson cuts Vitali down sooner or later. My guess is that Vitali could hang in there for a while by fighting the way Bonecrusher Smith and Tony Tucker did, which is to use their height, size and clinching ability to frustrate Tyson. Nonetheless, eventually Tyson's bombs would find their mark and Vitali would be out of there.

Prince Naseem Hamed vs Vitali would be an easy win for Hamed, a couple of left hooks to Vitali's balls and it would be goodnight Kiev.

Nah, back in the day before these ****** ass bitches gave me the name ***** Ass, due to my religious beliefs, I wrote for the site.

Don't get me wrong, I like Mike Tyson, but that's more or less due to my own physical attributes which naturally would make me appreciate a fighter that I think I can relate to, on a pound for pound basis of course.

Add to the fact that I've been in the ring, and I know what works for the most part, and I try to study styles to try to find strengths AND weaknesses.
