    I'd say Berbick and Holmes.

But that Thomas form going into that fight was very poor. Those 3/4 fights he had between Berbick and Tyson were pretty dreary. I certainly wasn't expecting him to raise his game a ton in that Tyson matchup & was surprised he made it out of the first few rounds. Thomas has to be at 100% of his best to hang with a Tyson and he'd clearly slid down the ladder.

I agree that Thomas was on his way out but still believe that it's one of his best wins.

I didn't know anyone picking Thomas to actually win the bout.

I did know a few people that thought Tucker/Biggs/Spinks/and even to a small degree Smith and Holmes/ had a shot at beating Tyson. But the prospect of Thomas coming out of the bout with a win was about the same as Tubbs==and nobody was picking that guy to win either.

Tucker a shot at beating prime Tyson. Are you crazy? Broken hand or not he'd have lost, wide. I respected Tubbs and Thomas more for the way they at least tried to take the fight to Tyson. Both were doing OK until they got caught (with big left hooks).

Are we talking performance or prestige?

Performance - Trevor Berbick and Tyrell Biggs.
Prestige - Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks.

the brutal, systematic almost sadistic dismantling of tyrell bigs goes down as one of THE most frightening perfromances in a boxing ring for me....a game of human cat and mouse, tyson just toyed with and destroyed biggs when he arguably COULD have stopped him at any time.....elegant brutality at its most chilling.....

    Agreed.

As for his best performances, I'd say Spinks and Bruno II.
