Oh yes...that's why the guys get paid **** compared to what they make for zuffa...its the good of the sport.
Brock should have been getting $15 million (each time) for his last three fights. He is (or was) a mega PPV draw that transcended the UFC brand. His last 4 PPVs have done around 1 million buys or more.
The money keeps going up in all fields of MMA. However it costs money open offices in the UK and Canada. Pay extra money for insurance in Canada. Look to branch out to the Gulf and Asia. The UFC isn't like boxing where they put on a show, give these money hungry fighters all the money, take loads for themselves then run. They are producing about 2 shows every month, in addition to expo's, tv programs etc
Most of what you mentioned makes money. TV shows make money on advertising...fight shows make money....some intial costs that don't show a immediate return...like opening forgin offices....all in all though its a business...and its close to a monopoly (I know not in a legal sense...but by and large in a functional sense) as such they don't pay their fighters what they "should".
You're an idiot. They pay Brock $15million that's $15million less to pay for a decent undercard, for loss-leading events in new markets, for investment in general infrastructure. The sport only grows because the money is shared around.
Brock has been earning about five million dollars a fight in PPV revenue, he's doing OK. Not many guys get a PPV cut though, you'd have to be an established star, and probably a former or current champion as well.
yeah but that money is reinvested. there is alot people don't know or consider. when brock, couture, chuck and others main event they get a cut off the PPV, huge sponsorships and solid basics in addition to bonuses. brock, chuck, couture and others make millions off of each fight even if it is reported that way. Some words from wiki that shed light on Chuck and Couture making at least a million.. On October 11, 2007, Couture announced that he was severing all ties with the UFC, leaving two contracted fights, a position as an on-air analyst, and his heavyweight championship behind. He reportedly received $250,000, plus $936,000 of PPV revenue, for his comeback against Tim Sylvia. He also reportedly received a $250,000 purse for defeating Gabriel Gonzaga, as well as a $35,000 bonus for "Fight of the Night" and $787,000 in PPV revenue. This became a sticking point since Chuck Liddell lost his two previous fights yet is still being paid more, according to Couture.
How about you be civil. Their current undercard costs less then a few hundred thousand anyway. The only people growing from this enterprise is a bellboy and his two gangster friends. oh, and go **** yourself, friend.
