Absolutely. Diaz's boxing is as **** poor as it gets and Penn was exposing it exactly how Popkins and I predicted it. The problem was that he gassed without ever having even been pushed or grinded on after one ****ing round and he had nothing in the second. Had he been in Diaz's shape he would have cruised to a UD or stopped him late because the first round was as much of a boxing mismatch as Floyd/Gatti.
His heart is not into it anymore you can see it no former champ gases in 1 round unless he doesn't train right he was just getting a last payday thats all nick couldn't even put him down wow dam BJ he was countering nick easy but he ran out of gas :verysad
i feel ya on this one. I use to hate the Diaz bros. They talk a lot of **** but they will get in the ring and fight. No BS.
To hell with that, he should retire. He came into a fight with a legitimate tough guy of the sport, a guy who while technically unsound on the feet, can force a fight and go all night, in the shape of your average pub brawler and he gave away a bout he could have easily won. He was lazy even when he was young and hungry and now that he's settled down and a family man he couldn't even be bothered to train. There's no sense in him coming back to throw away more bouts that he could win if he trained properly. Penn is a guy with rare talents on the level of Jon Jones but unlike Jones, he takes them for granted and trains like a ****ing chump. I couldn't care less about watching him scrap anymore because he's the very picture of preternatural talent wasted by an utter reliance on it.
Have to laugh at the idea of Diaz fighting a top 10 boxer. Arm punches but without the speed and a defense you can drive a luxury liner through. Great fight tonight mind you

I agree, but Penn even said in an interview leading up to the fight that he doesn't think he's hit his peak yet. Which is obvious he has but doesn't seem to want to believe it or at least admit it. He should retire though, unless he needs some extra cash.
He comes from an insanely rich family, so he doesn't need money. He fights for love of the game and even that isn't there any more. Retirement is the only option. I'm not a fan of any fighter per se and I normally couldn't care less who wins so long as there is a decent scrap, but one thing I don't enjoy seeing is an outstanding talent waste his time and my money in taking fights that he won't seriously train for. Wasted talent sucks and Penn, for as much success as he's had, is wasted talent.
Diaz just keeps winning and proving idiot after idiot wrong. I mean how more strikers does he need to dominate ? Get over it hes a badass deal with it.
All I ever hear is Diaz has **** boxing and I read a million post about how BJ would destroy Diaz on his feet and that never happened. Lets see what happens when he faces a wrestler TBH the last top tier wrestler he faced was Sean Sherk over 5 years ago and he stuffed pretty much all those takedowns. Obviously he has improved tenfold since 2006 especially given the fact hes basically undefeated since then.
