I think Hendo showed that he can give Silva trouble. His striking has improved and if he can avoid the 4th and 5th rounds I think its a fairly even matchup. If he beats Silva, I think he'll have a very strong case for the GOAT.
I think the hardest round to debate was 2, and not five. 1, 3 and 5 could've all been 10/8 rounds, two for Hendo, but the third was the only legit one for me. Shogun didn't do enough in 5 to get a 10/8, it was just two straight rounds. I'll have to rewatch. Excluding the 2nd, I had it 1st: 10-9 (Hendo) 3rd: 20-17 (Hendo) 4th: 29-27 (Shogun) 5th: 38-37 (Shogun) I gave Hendo the second on my card though.
Was thinking in the 1st when Dan had the front choke about how gutted i'd be if it finished that early. Unbelievable fight still can't believe it.
So it was either a 2 point win for Dan, 1 if you gave the 5th 10/8 to Shogun or the 2nd to Shogun (which I didn't), or a draw.
FOTY for me, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was a close fight but Hendo deserved it.
Lets see it at 205. I've never liked Hendo at 185 and Silva needs to move up for good if he beats Sonnen.
That is now my favorite fight of all time. What a display of heart and Chin from two ATG warriors. I had it scored as follows. R1- 10-9 Henderson R2- 10-9 Henderson R3- 10-8 Henderson R4- 10-9 Rua R5- 10-8 Rua 47-46 Henderson
