i was impressed with Vinny Magalhaes when he was on TUF until he got TKOed by ryan bader dont think they should have cut him after 2 pro fights in the ufc after all the did beat Krzysztof in 1 round

Vinny has put together a decent string of wins recently. He might work his way back to the UFC.

 

I'm moving to Canada later this year, so I'll definitely be going the next time they put on a card at Roger's Centre. That **** looked amazing on TV.

 

His MMA record is as relevant as Rickson Gracie's.

 

To be fair Canadians REALLY get behind their athletes. Both Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal sell out when they fight. Going to be interesting to see what happens to Canadian MMA when a major star like GSP calls it time.

 

Well fingers crossed Rory MacDonald steps into the breach . And while if they did lack a big crossover star it would hurt I think you have to be careful to not exaggerate the impact. Western Canadian provinces are always among the biggest markets for ppvs whether GSP is fighting or not. After all the WWF/WWE was able to build on the popularity Bret Hart helped build despite lacking a major Canadian star after he left in 1997.

Now what is interesting is whether they can properly crack the Quebec market. While Montreal has hosted big events their success has largely been based on out of town attendees from Western Canada. Even GSP has admitted that he's relatively (stress relatively) unknown in Quebec compared to not only his popularity in Toronto and Vancouver, but also Jean Pascal's and Lucian Bute's in his home province.
