Mike Chiesa's defeat of ****** Lawrence last night on the Ultimate Fighter was an amazing upset. I expected Lawrence, whose hands are incredibly heavy, to walk right through him. The unique thing about the fight was that Lawrence's success lead to his downfall. Whenever he landed something hard, for example that incredible body shot in the 2nd, and dropped Chiesa to the ground, Chiesa would get the best of it. Chiesa was very hurt by said body shot, but it actually led to his winning the bout. It just shows your game needs to be well-rounded.

Yeah, but to walk through him he'd have to be on his feet and he kept going to the ground and staying there. As the other thread says he ****ed up.

Great future though, if he can work a game plan.

Great future? I dunno'. He'd be a very good fighter at 145 IMO, but not sold on him being anything special.

After I saw how he ****ed the second round I was wondering something...I know soccer kick to the head are illegal...but are soccer kick to the body legal ?

I don't see anything about that....I was wondering why didn't just kicked him into submission....

Why almost nobody use knee or kick to the body of a downed opponent ??

Why you hatin so much? The fact is lawerence is one of the most talented strikers TUF series has ever seen. Name anyone that was better. I'd like to hear it.
Lawrence doesn't throw just looping bombs, his foot work and accurate punching from different angles is impressive, not to mention the raw power and speed that goes behind them.
I know more about boxing than MMA but know when I see an extremely deadly and exciting striker.

I've never heard Joe Rogan talk about this season and I don't really like him anyway.
If you just saw Lawrence fight last night for the first time I wouldn't be saying that, but his first 2 fights were pretty impressive, especially his first one.

J ustine Lawrence is a dynamo!

    :rofl

Yeah, it's against the rules. It's something like no knees to the head if any part of the body besides the feet are touching the mat.
