    Patterson vs. Liston I

Little is remembered about how Liston was the underdog at the time it happened.

    I think Patterson was a 2-1 favorite.

    I think I'll research this.

Well, if Ali dominated Liston in their first fight, Leon must have dominated Ali in their first fight too.
    The "split decision" was disgraceful.

I don't know if its been mentioned already, but around 1992, Simon Brown was heavily favored to send Buddy McGirt into retirement and lost in one sided fashion over a 12 round boxing clinic..

    Floyd Patterson vs Sonny Liston.

Fight I,,,,,Sonny Liston was an 8-5 favorite at fight time, though odds could be
found at 9-5 Liston and also 2-1.

Though, when the fight was first signed in 1962, the odds were very-close at 7-5 Liston.
Early bets on Sonny Liston bumped up the odds to 2-1 as Sonny the favorite.
But a surge of Chicago money came in on Floyd Patterson, when it was leaked that
a 'planned coup' by big betting interests 'smart money' had inside information.
The odds then dropped to 7-5 Liston.

But the 'smart money' was really held on until the afternoon before the fight, when it all
came flying down on Liston. Final odds in Las Vegas were 9-5 for Sonny.

Though more money was bet on Sonny Liston, 60% of all bets were placed on Floyd to win.

  13. Mayweather - Corrales , Mayweather was the underdog and put forth arguably his best performance to date
