How strange...as I'm sure he caught Fury flush, not once but twice, throwing a one-two as he fell, yet Fury was up within 7, on his feet, fully alert, not dazed or wobbly, and was able to come forward and win the remainder of the round. Hardly this devastating power you speak of. Tell me again, aside from the dozens of nobodies, cab drivers, ageing journeymen with heart problems, and all round bums, who has he beat? The only knock out...THE ONLY...knock out ill give him credit for was against Breazeale. That was decent. Now let's see him do that again and again and again, against top tier opposition.
Couple things. 1) The idea that Wilder is so much harder the hitter than all the best from history that "it's not even close" is obviously ridiculous. 2) For those of us who don't believe in God, or do but don't think it likely he would chose to intervene in the career of Tyson Fury, it just seems more likely that Wilder met a fighter whose resistance was equal to his punching power. If Wilder finishes his career as he started, his being regarded as the hardest puncher will be reasonable - but this chat is mad.
Only way you can beat science in this, you only need 2 requirements: Build up a boxer to 32-0-0-0 (KO 32) -straight forward- Make sure he becomes the WBC Champion -to prove his power is real- Any weight class, any era...You will never ever have another Deontay Wilder... Deontay Wilder challenges all beings from the Paleolithic to the Post-Human future to match Deontay Wilder record. Numbers...No feelings, if its easy do it...prove Wilder wrong
Wilder loops his punches, foot work is not good, keeps his hands low. Imagine if he straightened out his right hand? His drawn out should be within 4 rounds types of fights would actually be those kind of fights. Breazeale perfect example. Right was straight as an arrow and goodnight. While I agree he is in the ranks of hardest punchers ever, I think young Foreman had him. He uppercutted Frazier off his feet FFS. That would be an interesting mythical matchup, Wilder vs Foreman primes. Id take Big George
Fury a mentally strong Giant with an Iron Chin & long limbs, who made Wlad look like a modest boxer, beating him on his own game....Yet Deontay Wilder pure power alone was able to do what nobody was able to do to Fury..
Hard to say Wilder is the hardest puncher ever. You should make him fight with McCall..if he goes down Wilder is the best puncher.
Big George is an excellent technique puncher, with maximum use of Psych-Ops...Not just a raw puncher. It took Ali-Young (Fury type) to defeat him...Big George is obviously the better skilled Puncher...He is a tuned AMG fast car vs Wilder super-engine on wheels Deontay Wilder as you pointed out, has yet to make use of all his potential power... Can Deontay Wilder Defeat every ATG? (not sure) Is Deontay Wilder the hardest puncher of All time (Definitely)
Notice the use of word Scary...Foreman KOed Mike Tyson before they ever got in the ring, the fear was real... Fear amplifies power, Foreman & his Idol Liston were as far as Intimidation can be used... It took the Fearless Egomaniac Ali to beat both of them by KO nothing less... Wilder raw power alone is what gets the job done, most his opponents underrated his power...till they got their NDE
