After the way Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren forced their BS rematch clauses "nah you didn't really win the belt you gotta fight him again" on Usyk, they can kiss his ass. Also it's time for Itouma to really increase his level of opposition to earn that shot instead of jumping the line.
This type of logic really baffles me? We are all boxing fans on here. And as boxing fans we like to see match ups that excite us and that give us (on paper at least) an intriguing clash of styles. Regardless of whether he has earned the shot, don’t you, as a boxing fan, want to see a fight like Itauma v Usyk? Why do you care about how a promoter treated Usyk? Why do you care so much that you would be content to see the fight not happen just because you perceive these promoters to have wronged Usyk? Totally bizarre outlook IMO.
Dumb thread by a casual. Itauma is not in the Usyk lottery, and at the slow pace he fights, won't have done anything to get there by the time Usyk retires. The real thing here is, Itauma needs to stop avoiding Murat Gassiev. They said the wanted the WBA regular title, Warren was willing to sue to try to get Pulev. Now that Gassiev has it, Murat's camp says Itauma's people are not to be found, and indeed, the first name out of Moses' mouth today was Hrgovic. Why no Gassiev for the WBA regular?
There is a pecking order amongst the mandatory’s to face Usyk,Kabayel is next and a win over Franklin does not leapfrog Itauma over any of them !
Kid gets matched against a fat, slow, journeyman who has never accomplished anything that he's supposed to knock out. Kid knocks out fat, slow journeyman and all of a sudden he deserves to fight Usyk. Make it make sense. Gassiev, Hrgovic, Bakole, Miller, Andy Ruiz (if he gets in shape), Ajagbe (though he's now with Zuffa so that's a no go), or Zhang would be a good next fight for this kid. All of those guys would at least throw some punches back and not just stand there being a heavy bag. It was concerning how heavy Itauma was breathing after each round. Other than a chin check, the biggest question about this kid is does he have the stamina to be that fast and explosive through 12 rounds? If he's huffing and puffing while swinging at a fat lump who doesn't move or hardly throw back? That's a bad look.
Itauma can afford to lose some weight himself, in all honesty. He's powerfully built, but you can see he has about an extra 15 pounds of fluff he could trim. That would, presumably, also improve his cardio. I’ll grant that someone like AJ always looked in phenomenal shape throughout his career.
Did you bother to read the thread Title ? I never said Usyk was,I replied to a thread saying Usyk needs to stop avoiding Itauma, and this is the only fight that matters, then I listed the order for Usyk !
