Exactly, there’s just no winning with some. Usyk doesn’t need Itauma, he’s basically from the next generation of HWs, it’s that simple.
It would do more for his legacy than fighting a non-boxer. I think Usyk should fight Kabayel, because he's clearly the most deserving opponent out there for him. If Usyk emerges victorious and Moses beats an actual live heavyweight in the meantime (like Hrgovic), then only Moses or a Wardley that's beaten Dubois, makes sense from a legacy perspective. Usyk would be chasing the right to say he cleared out Cruiserweight, cleared out heavyweight, then beat the next generation of heavyweights. Any belts for Moses thereafter, would only grow Usyk's achievements in years to come.
Be real. Moses won't take the fights against Wardley (for a title), Gassiev (for the WBA regular, essentially a mando spot), and Sanchez (mando spot) that have been dumped in his lap. He's not fighting Usyk. HE'S NOT FIGHTING USYK. He's not fighting Uysk. It's a fantasy for his fans. See you in nine months when he's in there against Michael Hunter calling out the world.
And he conveniently won't fight Wardley because they have the same coach, lol. Gonna be hilarious when Wardley sparks out Dubois in yet another crazy finish and then Itauma turns down the mandatory shot the WBO gave him. Best we're getting is another old, shot nobody like Hunter in the summer (if Itauma can stay off the weed) and then Hrgovic at the end of the year.
'Member? 'Member when Fury was GOAT? Usyk pummeled that guy twice 'cause once wasn't enough to convince you. 'Member? Usyk has no need to do anything. Let's see Itauma vs Kabayel first. Or how about Itauma vs Big Bang? Big Bang is dangerous for 5 rounds, can take yuuuge shots and can land them as well.
Honestly, I think that is exactly what Itauma's schedule will be. Michael Hunter in the summer. Filip Hrgovic at the end of the year.
