Not long ago I watched an old Hollyfield fight, a fight with a certain Cuzz or Cyzz or Cyuzz. Sorry, I am too lazy to look up his real name. Hollyfield looked pathetic in that fight..........against an opponent who wouldnt last more than 4-6 rounds with Usyk.
Usyk would have been a spit bucket boy in the early 90s cruiser weight division?? Ridiculous!
The same statement can be heard from a lot of russian fight fans who keep saying that if......................the soviet fighters would have been able to fight in the pro ranks in the 60,70,80,and 90s most of those protected american fighters would have gotten their ass kicked. We never know it as all this is pure speculation.Hollyfield was a great fighter but the 90s cruiser weight division was for sure not better than today's one.Usyk would have been able to make the water hot for any cruiser weight within the last 100 years. Bucket boy! Pah!

I don't profess to know everything, but I know what I saw, which was two guys with decent skills putting on a good show. To think either would stand a chance against the likes of wilder, Joshua, Parker and Ortiz would suggest it's you who knows f-all about boxing. Be a fan by all means, but don't let that cloud judgement.

Usyk has FAR more skills than anyone at HW and so does Breidis. They're two elite fighters in a very deep and underrated division. The only thing that remains to be seen is how the extra weight will alter his style. If he sits more on his power shots but is able to keep most of his workrate and mobitlity, he has everything to keep all these big guys honest. Will he win against the top big guys ? Nobody knows. Can he compete at HW ? Obviously.

Sorry, I just don't see it. They have decent skills, but wouldn't go any further than that. What skills exactly are you referring to that makes you think he could stand any remote chance? To compete against 240+lb giants with huge power they both would need to show a lot more than they did on Saturday night. Usyk is heavily hyped on here, but he has some major flaws which would spell danger against the big guys, namely the zero head movement and the fact he utilises his jab so much would ordinarily be a good thing, but against a heavyweight with a significant reach and power advantage would spell doom. His speed people talk about wasn't evidenced against Breidis, he footwork going forward wasn't great as he didn't cut the ring off and showed not much in the way of lateral movement in the opening rounds when being pushed onto the back foot, he also got hit way too much and way too easily by a guy with average at best handspeed. Wilder and Joshua both have quicker hands than his opponent and deliver shots with infinitely more power, at HW he's getting stopped and hurt. He is best sticking at cruiser weight for me.

As much as I don't like Joshua, Usyk doesn't have that type of ability to beat even a stiff ass Joshua. He lacks the power to even hurt a legit hvw.

Well said. Anytime a CW beats a low end heavy the. That low end heavy was never good. Charr is a ****en bum. Charr is the reason why Breidis and Usyk are overrated.

Well I'm assuming hes 210-215 in the ring.

Puts on another 5lbs or so and he should be able to compete physically

Charr is a bum and using him as any bar for hvw is almost boxing blastphemy. And Breidis doesn't hit harder than Headvetkin or Vitali.

Charr may be a bum, but he has a good chin, and based on the evidence, Briedis KO'd him cold a few rounds faster than Povetkin, he does hit just as hard if not a little harder, Usyk has wins over a massive 6'6 Brit Olympic Medalist like AJ in Joe Joyce, and he beat two guys that beat AJ, Usyk does better against taller heavier guys, his kryptonite is smaller pressure fighters, which AJ isn't even close to being.

CST, you know that it doesn't mean that he has more power. And the amateurs are the amateurs. Usyk has zero power. He can't beat a true hvw contender. I don't know if he can beat Dorticos or Gassiev either.

I wish it was all about power but it's not. To be the best you need boxing skills and brain. Something that your boy Wilder has to prove after a little more than a month.
