Joe was a MASSIVE super middleweight with a chin of steel you can't be serious , tell me you're being serious lmfao

 

Joe had serious defensive deficiencies and fought pretty bad competition throughout most of his career.

I honestly think a lot of great fighters do serious damage to Joe. Not Graham counting sheep damage, but I'd bet he'd get stopped by plenty of guys.

 

Jackson fought a far higher level of competition than Joe and took his losses at the end of his career. Look at Joe's defense, the way even a shot RJJ was able to drop him. I think, had Joe actually fought good competition many of them would have landed a shot or two Joe wasn't able to take.

Simply put, we know Joe had a good chin because we saw him get hit on it.

There's a big difference between getting tagged by Mario Veit and a prime RJJ.

 

Serious defensive deficiencies ? The kid got dropped twice in 44 fights @ 168 lbs and twice in two fights @ 175 lbs at the very end of his career ,that doesn't indicate he had defence problems to me .

 

He kept his hands pretty far away from his chin, got by more with his chin and a little head movement than blocking and slipping.

You'll notice I say Wilder has serious defensive deficiencies for keeping his hands too far away. I guess my instructor beat hand placement into my dead so much I have a hard time overlooking it.

 

Calzaghe slapped Lacy to the canvas if I recall correctly.

 

Care to name five of the PLENTY of guys that would stop Joe @ 168 lbs then ?
