He is probably asking more money for hospital expenditure post AJ match. AJ will beat him black and blue for good.
I really better had wished to see A.J vs Ruiz III than vs Usyk. Doesn't matters that he won rematch on cards, he needs fight again vs Ruiz. Not likely, most likely contract is with terms also for a rematch. Pro boxing business career is suitable for lads from proper countries and with proper promoters. Others should think before they ink there.
The real problem with be a REMATCH CLAUSE. Usyk is mandatory, he doesn't have to accept a rematch clause. Hearn will want a rematch clause, Hearn sticks rematch clauses on keep busy fights. Usyk will not want one, simply becuase if he beats AJ then he can walk off and fight Fury/Wilder for all the belts. So Hearn will lowball Usyk and then turn around say "I'll pay more if there is a rematch clause". The reason Usyk shouldn't accept a rematch clause is because even if he beats AJ soundly and gets stiffed on the cards, he won't get a rematch because they want to go off and have an undisputed fight, So it would be a rematch clause for AJ's benefit only, so this may well go to purse bids and then anything can happen. It's already getting messy, but Usyk should hold firm and refuse a rematch clause, no benefit in for him whatsoever.
There aren't rematch clauses when mandatory defenses go to purse bids. This isn't a keep-busy fight. It would be a mandatory defense. They only go to purse bids when the two sides can't agree to a fight an org mandates. So the fight goes to the promoter who makes the highest bid for that one fight. It's a one-off fight. If it goes to purse bids, Joshua-Usyk won't have a rematch clause. Which is another reason why Eddie can't let it go to purse bids. He has to negotiate with Usyk's side. They all smell blood. (LOL)
Yeah I know, maybe I didn't explain myself every well, I apologise.. Basically Hearn will be trying to force a rematch clause on Usyk, lowball him, then tell Usyks team he will get more money if they accept a rematch clause. Usyks team should refuse and just go to purse bids, they don't have to accept any rematch clause in negotiations or a purse bid, DAZN and Sky have deals with Hearn/Matchroom and AJ, so they will HAVE TO WIN a purse bid so they will have bid large anyway. Hearn is just trying to secure a rematch clause so he will start with a low offer and then up the offer with the suggestions of a possible "two fight deal" Usyk is in a position of power here, Hearn is just trying to force Usyk to accept AJs terms and it's a mandatory so Hearn has no real power over Usyk.
Right. They should just go to purse bids. Unless Hearn offers him a better split (than purse bid split), which would mean more money for fight one, in exchange for a rematch clause. And the rematch clause would have to guarantee Usyk the higher split (like 60-40) if he wins. But Hearn likely won't do that.
Nope, you won't win, that's not the point. The point is, you shouldn't accept a rematch clause and the lowball offer will be bettered by a purse bid. DAZN, Sky and Hearn can't afford to lose a purse bid, unthinkable, so the purse bid will bring you more than the lowball offer.
Joshua should bin all Furys loaned ABC belts and Fury should just bin the WBC so that gets rid of all the politics and sanctioning fees and just fight for The Ring belt. Not only would it give all the ABC organisations the finger and devalue the belts considerably they would also take a big hit financially as well which i would find hilarious especially the WBA with there Super, Regular, Gold, Interim bollocks. Tell them all you fight who you want, when you want and where you want as at the end of the day your the one getting in the ring as a warrior to fight for yourself and the fans, all these organisations are stealing money out of fighters pockets while taking no licks themselves. Boxers and fans need to stand up to all the corruption and skulduggery. You can bet the WBC will have a special belt on the line line come fight week for Floyd vs Paul so they can get in on the act and get some fees and endorsements from the event. This is why the sport is in the sorry state its in at the moment.
