What makes people say that? He beat Campillo pretty convincingly. He barely threw a punch against Shumenov, but they fought outdoors in 110 degree weather. He fought basically even with Gutknecht, who has been in and out of the top 10 for years. He's not great, but he's not poor either. He's a fringe contender, and the years have proven that out pretty well.
Stopping Campillo is by far his best win. This performance showed why he is awful, he spent long periods doing nothing! He's one paced and although he's heavy handed he's not got genuinely world level power. If he let his hands go more often he could have given the top guys a decent fight, as it is...he's awful The years have proven that when Uzelkov steps up he tends to be out classed. In fact take out the Campillo victory and his next best is over Denis Simcic. All well and good talking about Gutnecht but he too is poor and a cear B level fighter in a **** poor division.
