If there has already been any other posts on this, sorry for the repetition. But Im just wondering if anyone else on here thinks its weird that the vacant WBC LMW title is being fought for at a catch weight of 150lbs? Forget the fact that its Pac vs Marg... thats a whole other topic. I just think a vacant title should be fought for at the actual minimum weight. Thoughts?
its the 15 title, you can weigh below the weight if you want nothing new here, both boxers have agreed privately to do this Pac is already the diamond catchweight champ
Ryan Rhodes should be fighting for it. But it's understandable them letting pacquiao challenge for it- he has been pretty good in other weight classes to be fair
The catchweight is one thing but my main concern is to give 2 guys an opportunity to claim a belt at a weight class they have done nothing to deserve a shot for a vacant belt. If a champ gives them a chance, that's alright...but a vacant belt ? That's all wrong... It's always a matter of money and Top Rank has the kind of leverage with the ABC organizations to make such scenarios.
yeah but if its for the vacant 154 title, then what right does pac have demanding that margarito, a normal 154 fighter, cant actually weigh in at the maximum that he is allowed....? ...... Margarito is ranked by the WBC in the top 3. I believe they had Angulo, Chavez Jr, and then Margarito after he fought that can in his comeback fight.Definitely in the top 10 because Jose loves having famous people wear their hardware.
