Valero gets licensed in the U.S.!!!!!!!

    I'll say this again . . . good!

The guy has been taking same risk when he fights out of U.S. so why worry about his state of health now? Now that he passed a HEALTH EXAM?

Now he has a chance to prove himself against the big names in big fights.

what i know was that hes long been cleared to fight by some venezuelan doctors, and a former physician by a state boxing body (in california, if my memory serves me right) long before new york banned him from fighting.

but hey, its a great news! a tougher chin would make him number 1 in the division now that pac has gone to 135.

Valero and Pacquiao, that would be an awesome matchup and perhaps even a trilogy.

Valero's absence from the U.S. may actually be a blessing in disguise, since he was forced to develop his skill gradually with good (but not great) boxers. To me this is the best way to develop your skills right. If Valero had been allowed to box in the U.S. all this time, it's so easy for him to try to take on a big name fighter like Pacquiao, and quite possibly lose, and also lose confidence. Fernando Vargas thought he could take on the best fighters out there after he won his championship at an early age, but look what happened to his career. He dared to challenge Felix "Tito" Trinidad only to lose his confidence after the lost, and had a mediocre career afterwards. Yes he went on to fight some big names like Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosely, and Ricardo Mayorga, but Vargas had not seriously improved over the years. Had he instead taken a more steady course, he could have gradually developed better skills, and fought the best when he was really ready. This is how I see Valero's career. Because of his ban from the U.S., it forced him to gradually develop skills. People criticize him for fighting a bunch of nobodies, but guess what, that's actually the smart way to become a better fighter, and develop a more permanent confidence. Valero isn't done yet with improving. He's got a few kinks to work out before a Pacquiao fight. But he can definitely step up the competition now with a fight with Rocky Juarez and Humberto Soto.

I think the reverse is what actually happened.

Unfortunately Valero shunned the boxing skills he showed early in his career and always went for the spectacular knockouts after getting banned in the US. The only thing he developed since is the mystique of having a "perfect" knockout record.

    Is this true?

Then, he has to start fighting legit competition and be in the 130 mix.

Steve Fischer must be so glad now..

people who are asking for Pacquiao vs Valero would be disappointed by a one-sided beatdown

the winner of Rocky Juarez vs Jorge Barrios is a good fight for Valero

which one? Juarez vs Barrios or Winner vs Valero

    The former.

How can't it be an exciting good fight? You have two good punchers who have no plans of winning via decision.

One is reckless while the other one is an inside fighter.

If you like pure action, this is recommended.

Thats good news!! I've been wanting to see what all the hype was around this guy... You think he will pull an Antonio Margarito and get beat as soon as he gets here and his fire turned to hot coals
