You notice how he looked at Pitalua after he got grazed by a punch at the end of round 1? I thought to myself, well Pitalua is history next round! lol
You could really replace the name "Valero" with "Gamboa" in this thread and you'd get the exact same response. These guys are either hypejobs that will be "exposed" or else they are future greats. No chance they could simply become decent respectable world champs. Let's just wait and see, he's only just got started.
Nah...... Pacs worse Nightmare are skilled/slick conter punchers! Not plodding sluggers who have limited movement. On the contrary....stylwise ED is a dream come true minus the extraordinary Power Ed has been blessed with. For that reason alone he is VERY dangerous, but Ed will find it harder to land his wild, looping punches on ELITE level opposition than the grat success he's had on C and B level comp that is all over his reume.
Guzman is the worse style for Valero and Pac as well. JMM on the other hand will get KTFO when he faces Valero. Juan Diaz who is slower and has no power managed to put JMM on ***** street so I have no doubt that Valero could ice JMM early if he lands anything significant. Valero vs. Pac will be a barn burner however long it may last. Whoever lands the biggest punches first will likely come out on top in that one. The bottomline is if your defense is not great and you are consistently hittable throughout a fight, Valero will knock your head off.
Which is also the reason why Valero is on the "suspect" list given his offenseive and defensive flaws of not having head movement himself. A truly Skilled and Elite level fighter will fight Ed hittable and easy to find while easily being able to see and avoid the winging power punches from Ed. Ed has a lot of potential but he needs to tweak his game in certain areas.
Mosquera had him down and he wasnt a big puncher if he goes chasing a top fighter with that chin up in the air the hype goes down the drain.
Oh, Valero's defense is definitely suspect. I fully expected JMM to counter Diaz to death and maybe even knock him out through accumulation late in the fight. The difference is JMM may hit Valero with 4-5 punches for every one that Edwin lands but that single punch may be the only one a guy like Valero will need to end JMM's night. Valero's power and killer instinct are above Pac's so if JMM was in against Valero and got hurt bad in the first it would be over for him. Pac with all his experience will be a dangerous fight for Valero but still winnable because neither is afraid to throwdown. Guzman is awkward, mobile & difficult to hit. Valero has stated on the record that Guzman would be his hardest fight because of the styles. There's no real threat of getting knocked out vs. Guzman but if you can't land solidly on the elusive guy then Valero is going to lose a decision. I'd rather Valero face JMM, someone who he will have no trouble hitting and doesn't have the best chin either and has a habit of going down early in fights. Beating a P4P fighter will rocket Valero's marketability and even if he loses he still has time to refine his game. It's a win-win scenario for Valero and that is why Arum is pushing hard to make that match.
Wild and loopy? The only wild I've seen from Valero are his flurries. His loopy punches are vey fast, short and precise. You wont get a 25-0 record with 25 Kos only with strenght and power I don't care who you are not even against tomato cans.
You forgot to mention that after he punched he pulls his arms back as low as his anckles. All the fighters you mentioned above will punish him for that mistake alone. Pac and JMM are like 10 times better than him regarding everything (speed, counter-punch ability, etc., etc.) imo.
