It is easier to like him, now that he is not undefeated. (I thought draw was ok in last fight)

    Don King comments -
    Praise for Valuev and coach.
Wants the (WBA) title back, says Valuev is #1.
Wants Valuev to knock out Chagaev first, then go for the Klitschko/Ibragimov winner.
"This is the NEW Nikolay Valuev!"

    Got the punchstats too :

    VALUEV 235/400 59% (average = 20/33)
    LIAKHOVICH 74/260 28% (average = 6/22)

I just figured Valuev woulda caught him with something big enough to put him down at sometime during the fight, so I guess I was halfway right in saying that Valuev was going to give Liakhovich in a one-sided beat down, that would lead to Valuev catching him with something and knocking him out.

Valuev looks to me far better then he has done in the past, and ok he did not have much to worry about in a dire fight from SL but still those jabs all landed home,he doubled them and tripled them and did some other decent stuff, his sheer size will always make him slow, and with his age he will get slower, but his skills are a hell of a lot better.

Hes also a nice humble guy, seems to be fit never gasses, and is always nice to the other guy he fights,a great guy,not his problem hes seen to be in a poor era,i dont buy that,i just think it lacks true deapth, any way well done guy,and im sure when his title fight comes about,he will as per usual turn up in good shape and give it his all

I gave Sergei the 1st and 9th or 10th I think. Although I may have been out since the consenses is the it was a clean sweep.

Liakhovic just couldn't deal with Valuev's size. His defence was weak so he used too much energy trying to avoid punches and couldn't attack with enough regularity.

If he could of kept up his pace from the 1st round he would of had a chance but at 250lbs it was always doubtful that he could keep up any sort of sustained attack.

    WOW at the cards:lol:

It was an easy win for Valuev but he really didnt do a hell of a lot in some of the early rounds.

God I'd love to see Wlad chop down this TREE:good

How the hell was Liakhovic going to win with 22 punches a round? He should've been training.

Sounds Valuev has really improved his skills. Chagaev is going to have a rough fight.

It was a lackluster fight, IMO.

If Chagaev shows up in shape, Valuev is in for another loss in the rematch. He is just too slow, Chagaev will be able to counter him at all times with powershots. The only reason Chag will not KO him is bc he lacks the power to do so. How can you miss a head that size?

Liakhovich was total crap in this fight, showed up in bad shape, fought an awful strategy.

He never did try, was happy at being a punch bag for Valuev the hole fight, never moved laterally to counter Valuev, he could have landed a bunch of powershots that way, he never even did counterpunch. How don't you make use of counterpunching against a slow fighter like Valuev?

If Valuev ever faces Wlad, who is much, much faster than him, he will be on the deck inside 3 rounds. I'd say Povetkin also beats him.

So did I, round two, when he was practically saved by the bell. There were a few others that could have been scored 10-8, Valuev dominated the **** out of Sergei.
