Ruiz came to fight last night, dont knock him for that. He lost fair and square, but he wasnt up to his old tricks. While I wouldnt pay to see him fight because of his history I'd have been happy to have paid to see the fight last night.

Good to see mistakes corrected. Valuev should knock off Meehan easily if that is his next opponent.

Say what you want, John Ruiz has some of the biggest balls in boxing. The guy has fought EVERYONE.

I have to see the fight but it was nice seeing him stagger Valuev the way he did in the second round. You could almost call that a KD.

Ruiz also has one of the best chins in the game.

Ruiz is hard to love sometimes, but love him I do. He's just got bollacks.

Even if he did try and pretend they were near his hips versus Holyfield.

WTF Valuev vs. Meehan?? Just another non compelling, boring match up which doesn't creat any excitment... No disrespect to Meehan, who seems to be a honest straight forward guy, but cards like this really ruin the heayweight division and boxing in general.

I had been up all night and fell asleep watching Valuev Ruiz 2, not because it was terrible, but because I was tired. Managed to bet 75 bucks on valuev at 3 to 1 and my reasoning was if it was close they would give it to Valuev. I had Donald winning by 4 points and Ruiz by 1 last time and both of those were MD's.

Valuev brings them too much cash to let a close one get away over there.

Meehan needs to know the way to win in Europe is to knock out Valuev. And I think its quite clear that this can be done. He needs to approach the fight backwards - go for the KO every round...and if the decision comes on the way while you are working for the KO, than good, but don't expect the decision, and don't get unfocused and bogged down focusing on the decision, just let it come while you are working for the KO. :smoke

That's the strategy Meehan needs, I just don't see him winning that fight. I think Valuev will have too much of a height/size advantage and by using his jab should win a UD or TKO.

Valouev had Ruiz hurt. Ruiz never hurt Valouev.

Valouev deserved a unaminous decision, Ruiz, in no way, won that fight. Clear win for Valouev. Also, Valouev had a point taken away. Ruiz is WWF.

    BLADE: No need to worry!

Have since heard that Valuev has a mandatory, and won't be in against Kali Meehan afterall.

Why's that? Meehan doesn't have much of a name, but he's a legitimate top 20 HW right now, having beaten Williamson and getting robbed against Brewster, and he has as solid of a puncher's chance as anyone has against Valuev. It's a step up from fights against guys like Owen Beck and Monte Barrett.

No. Your scoring is flawed. The Giant won a close fight. Even if you want to give it to Ruiz there are just not enough rds where he did enough to win. This story plays it's self out every time Ruiz fights. Against Chagaev the Ruiz fans cried robbery. Nonsense Chagaev won the fight clearly. The judge that scored it for Ruiz must have been watching another fight. No way Ruiz won that fight. It was easy to score and Chagaev won 8 rds to four. Ruiz is game but a loss is a loss. No way did he beat Valuev in either of their fights.
