Here is Lomachenko's second WSB fight. Look at his defence.. I don't care, this guy is the best boxer I've ever seen.

Lomachenko is really good, but thats going a bit overboard.. When Mayweather was two years younger than Lomachenko is now he was pulling off masterpieces the likes of this

    [yt]PtuLTS-IpEY[/yt]

against p4p best fighters in the world.. its impossible to throw lomachenko into the same category when he is fighting amateurs

I wouldn't exactly call Lomachenko's opponent an 'amateur', he's the sort of guy you can easily see compiling a 20-0 record as a pro. Athletically gifted and tough, and Lomachenko toyed with him.
Lomachenko will be putting in his masterpieces in the pro game soon enough. The thing with Lomachenko is that he is a very aggressive, a body puncher and yet he still has flawless defence coming forward and in the middle of his attacks. It's one thing having a great defence when you fight off the back foot but to be that unhittable when aggressively pursuing your opponent? I've never seen anybody do it like Lomachenko.

Thats true, but the same amateur would be a much better fighter 20 fights in a pro career than he is now, being experienced in pro boxing. I have been watching lomachenko since he won his first and am very high on him though, cant wait for him to go fully pro :good

That's where I strongly disagree with you, often a guy like Lomachenko won't fight a decent fighter until 15 fights into a pro career at least, his opponents are the equivalent of a 20-2 sort of pro. Pro boxing is C grade boxing until you start fighting for titles. Look at Rigondeaux's most recent opponent, is he really that much better than this Suarez guy?
I think WSB is definitely the best thing for Lomachenko's development, it's 5 round pro boxing against good boxers. I just hope that when he signs with Top Rank/Golden Boy that they give him a title fight almost immediately, there's no need for the usual routine with any half decent amateur of feeding them knockout victims to build up hype.
We all know that a 20-0 record often means nothing but a casual fan thinks "Wow a pro boxer that's undefeated with 15 knockouts, he must be good". Rigondeaux isn't as suited for the pro game as Lomachenko is and look at his fast rise and amount of hype. If Lomachenko was a pro and compiled a 20-0 record against the usual no hopers his boxing game would've regressed at this point if anything. He'd have a nice KO highlight reel but sloppiness and mistakes would be creeping into his game due to the sub-par opposition.
Boxing is boxing, amateur or pro. There's differences in the pace of the fight and the length but boxing skills are there or not, Lomachenko isn't lacking in any area of the game.
But otherwise I'm with you, I can't wait to see Lomachenko headlining pro cards :good
The hype and the crowds of the pro game, that's all Lomachenko has to get to now.

It will definitely help. I think WSB is a valuable asset for prospects looking to make a transition into the pros because they're fighting a much higher level of fighter than the average highly touted prospect fights straight out of the amateur ranks. The level of competition is what sold me on the WSB. Instead of old tomato cans, the fighters sharpen their skills against other accomplished fighters who are young and ready to fight.

You'll never see matchups like that once they're in the professional ranks because that's when everyone wants to protect the zero. WSB is a valuable tool for that reason alone.

Im doubting his power. When he faces top opponents in pro game does he have the power to hurt them? What if he cant apply that pressure he puts on normally?

Wasn't Vasyl the 300-1 guy with his one loss avenged?

    Top 2 amateur ever then.
