It's actually pretty good, as long as he's not locked into it for long. His standard of comp is much higher than he'd be seeing in his first pro year, and as far as I can tell it's exactly like a 5 round pro fight as rules go.

He is turning professional after a season of WSB, he's on the record as saying that he'll be turning pro in the states with either golden boy or top rank. If he turned pro now he'd be knocking bums out in a round or two, doing WSB he's getting a taste of pro boxing against far superior opposition. Hopefully that means that when he turns proper pro next year he fights good competition from the get go instead of the usual cannon fodder.

He should go to Germany, they have really built some great eastern European boxers, America has yet to do so. I mean if he was polish I could see him getting away with it, in Chicago cause of all the poles, but I just don't see this guying getting the same coaching he would get in Germany. I mean he should develop there for a few years, then move America as the klitschko did.

I would of liked to see him use his jab more in the early rounds, might of stopped the guy if he did.

Not LW's, reality is NA is where the LW scene is.

The coaching in Germany sucks ****ing ****.

Vasyl's Father Anatoliy has trained him since he was a little kid and is an amazing trainer and conditioning coach as evidenced by his son. He also ended up becoming a head coach for the Ukrainain National team leading up to the Olympics and Ukraine won more medals that any country in 2012, the two of them, their techniques and conditioning methods have had a huge influence on alot of Ukraine's top boxers which is very obvious to see. Usyk also started working with Vasyl and his Dad around 2009 and went from a guy with some talent to a World and Olympic Champion. Vasyl dumping his Father and getting with some hack American "super trainer" like Mcgirt would be the worst thing he could do...next to dumping his dad and getting with an even worse German coach like Wegner.

P.S. ****ing German promoters forcing guys especially prospect to use their own hack trainers like Wegner pisses me. Masternak for example stood up to them and wouldn't sign unless he could keep his own trainers, more guys need to do that.

yeah but fact is that when he turns pro he's still gonna fight nobodies with **** records until his 5th or 6th fight so might as well jump into it sooner as a 24 year old.

so him an his dad are like calzaghe an his father:good

You got to remember that german has pretty much been the main output for eastern European champion for the past 15 years. They built profitable system, an with 2 gold medal, it safe to say he will be headling his own cards within 2 years. Look at some of there young fighters, if they want to fight once a month to get fights under there belt, they give it to them. An remember that was german trainers that built the champions an prospects that pretty much kicked America out of the heavyweight game they have controlled for a 100 years, give or take a fighter here or there (i.e.lewis)....

Yea he might hit it big in America, or just might not get the following, an HBO just might not bite, but if he adds some bait while fighting in Europe, an fighing in US at least once a year, he will not have to worry if he is on a undercard in some ballroom in the US cause he is getting paid big in his European fights.....:yep

Remember mayweather pretty much was bankrolled by HBO, cause he did not draw in fans till he was 30, an if anyone says he did, it is a lie, cause I have been to his fights, gatti, might be the rare exception, an that was cause it was Gatti. He should not expect that from HBO, were if he bids his time, he might be like pacman, an get it by default...

I don't understand why you think that, he was giving away a lot of height so he wasn't going to out jab him or work his way in with the jab. He slips punches and fires quick counters to deal with the size difference, that's the way to do it. I personally think the jab is a very unnecessary punch for fighters who are good with both hands and good movement. The jab is only a weapon for less skilled fighters/one hand fighters and fighters with size advantages imo.

Soon hopefully, one of the few I can actually see dethroning or beating broner. He's never faced anybody as talented/skilled as Vasyl, what a fight that would be if it materialized if no broner-gamboa.Gamboa-vasyl would be great as well.

Go look at when he was attacking later in the fight, he worked behind his jab, was it jab jab jab jab NO. But he began with jab, it is a distraction at very least for the opposing fighter, it worked well when he did it.

I don't consider that a jab per se, it's a feint. He also does it with the left to set up right hooks.

Having giggles at some of the idiotic people on here claiming Lomachenko would beat Broner.... For starters Broner is a lightweight and looking to move up to welterweight after his next fight. Why would a welterweight fight a featherweight? :patsch

Lomachenko fought in the 135 pound weight division in this fight.. Broner weighed 134 pounds for his last fight. Lomachenko 169cm, Broner 170cm. Lomachenko 24, Broner 23. Lomachenko - double olympic gold medallist beating all the top fighters from around the world (Cubans, Britains etc.) using a pro style. Broner - has fought a lot of bums, a lot of potential and athleticism and is starting to step up his competition.
What is so unreasonable about talking about the matchup? People talk about Rigondeaux despite his relative inexperience in the pro game due to his olympic golds, the difference with Lomachenko is that he has been an even more dominant amateur and his style is far more pro ready than Rigo's.
Lomachenko also spent time in the gym recently with Mayweather and Garcia. They are both lightweights, I hope Broner can continue to perform well and improve his game over the next couple of years to set up the super fight.

So why are people presuming the fight would be at featherweight, surely it would make more sense at lightweight. :patsch I'm glad your less delusional that the other and also know that Lomachenko stands no chance against Broner.
