Ok fair enough. I disagree. Good that we could settle this in a civilized manner.

No, my point is people are quick to say:

"He's 37, inactive and moving up two weight classes (which is factual)"

"What do you expect when he (Loma) is dragging a fighter up two weight classes!"

    Etc.

As a way of discrediting a fighter (Loma), when he wasn't looking for this fight to begin with, he offered Rigo out two years prior at a lower weight class and he declined.

Just don't know why people can't give their dues and move on, it's not a ATG win, but a decent win.

Good post. I often used to move up a weightclass when there was few competitors in my own, and had people move up to mine when theirs had few contestants, and I know that size matters in all(!) things you do as a fighter.
"Size doesn't matter" is something trainers can say to boost your confidence, or if you are too analytical in your aproach you might come to that conclusion because theoretically there might be a way. But if you're competing it does. If you win against a bigger opponent, it still mattered.
It plainly matters in non-full contact sports, too.

Nope, they are quality fighters, only one of them hasn't won a world title and they had a combined record of 88-3-5, and 2 of them were undefeated.

    Axe-Man had never quit before
    Marriaga had never quit before
    Sosa had never quit before
    Rigoblin had never quit before

4 souls in the bag in just over (by 2 weeks and a few days) a year.

Reading the last few pages shows how stupid some people on this site are.. blinded by their fanism.

Accuracy and Speed go hand in hand. Having speed doesn't ensure accuracy, but it sure as hell helps. If you are fast and quick you can land shots that a slower handed fighter can't. That's 100% truth.

Remember, Accuracy is really about negating an opponents defense. Finding holes, understanding patterns (how a fighter moves, tendencies, etc), and landing that punch on where the opponent will be when you launch the punch, not always where he is when you throw it. Speed is important in that, as it changes the window of time the opponent can react, and gives them less time to move their head or hands to protect where the punch is going too.

It can also effect your defense as you can bring your hands back faster to protect yourself from counters, where as a slow handed fighter is open for counters.

Lol. Skimming is reading knucklehead. This is too easy Chief. You’re silly to think this is hard work kid. It might be hard for you, but it’s effortless for me to type out a response on my phone.

Fair enough. This was a case of a great big man beating a great smaller man but it wasn’t based on size or weight. The skills Loma had was the deciding factor because Rig had always beaten men bigger than he was. Nonito for instance. A great fighter...he was p4p ranked and had a lot of power and skills, but Loma was more skilled and that was the difference in their fight.

Rig was definitely prepared for Loma’s footwork but didn’t have the ability overcome the constant movement speed and explosiveness that he saw last night.

Rig isn’t an aggressive boxer and I think if it was easier for him to land, he wouldn’t have been relegated to holding and trying to use the ref as a way to disrupt Loma’s rhythm.

I don’t think the fight changes had they been the same height and weight. Styles make fights and Loma has the style that would always be a problem for Rig

Well, we'll never know how Rig would have done if he was equal size to Loma... they aren't.

Another great example of a great skilled fighter beating a smaller skilled fighter decisively is Floyd v Marquez.

The funny thing is that NOBODY on this site gives Floyd credit for that win, despite all the credit going to Loma for this win.

That's where the blind fanboyism works it's magic. People can't be critical of fighters they obsess over.

I'm prone to it too, but I'm more a fan of the sport than of just certain fighters. I have no allegiance to any fighter, they sure as hell don't have it to us fans.

I didn't skim through the whole post. I'd just skim through your point till you went off on a different tangent then I'd respond. I find it hilarious that you're calling other people for "taking **** too seriously", when you're typing out essays for responses. I don't think it's "hard", your responses have the logic of an elementary school student. I think in your mind quantity makes your arguments stronger.
