I know Oscar not gonna put him in with BUD next...

    This is more realistic

I'll take Ortiz Jr. by ko. Seems a good title defense for sure.

I think Ortiz Jr. would maul Avenesyan, who is tough, and who I respect.

Avenesyanis Euro level or world level at the lowest level of world level if that makes sense.

I'm not knocking Ava down by saying that.

Vergil Ortiz Jr. is destined for world titles, multiple defences, unification, undisputed & being a boxing great. In a few years we could maybe, just maybe, even be talking about ATG status if everything goes well. It's all possible.

Ortiz will beatup him. Good business matchup for prospect.
If something will go a bit wrong, cards will help a lot.
    Casual fight for prospect.

Avenesyan would lose but he'd do better than Hooker. .

Very cringey superfan comment there mate

You're getting ahead of yourself. He just got wobbled by an average fighter in Hooker. He's in a tough division. And it's arguable he"s not even the best 147 prospect coming up as there's Stanionis, Ennis, Besputin, Butaev

He could just be like Victor Ortiz! And fail as soon as he's in world title fights.

Yeah, I could have wrote that slightly differently. For what it's worth, there is a lot of hype around Vergil Ortiz Jr. and it is mostly warranted, so far. Who knows, he might start picking up loses as he gets into the top 10 opponents. Or he might become another Canelo kinda fighter.

if by wobbled, you mean got knocked off balance... it happens. im not ready to predict atg status in his future, but i certainly agree that in less than 4 years, he will be the true monarch of the ww division.

I'd pick Ortiz Jr, younger, fresher and looks a very good fighter but don't sleep on Avanesyan, he is on a good run of form, has plenty of experience and will come to fight.

With his noted heart and come forward mentality, Ave's invariably goes out on his shield inside of 8 rounds. Ortiz will have little difficulty finding a target for his heavy artillery, and there's only so many flush shots you can take from his kid.

That said, I'm not willing to annoit Ortiz the next anything at this point. I'm not convinced, for example, that his long term ceiling is higher than Ennis's.
