Ernesto Marcel is not great. Barrera by devastating destruction. I'd probably favor Boxed Ears' dentist to move up five divisions and knock Ernesto out inside 3 lopsided rounds.

In all seriousness I really don't think Marcel can be listed as great. He had Great skills but only a couple of really good wins.He had really great skills and in my opinion could have given the greats at his weight all they could have handled but he has a limited body of work when it comes to greatness.

Ok, question to the people that think Ernesto Marcel isn't great:

Are the following fighters great, and if so, what makes them great and Ernesto Marcel not great:

    Jim Driscoll
    Marcel Cerdan
    Larry Holmes
    Bob Foster
    Aaron Pryor
    Carlos Zarate
    Felix Trinidad
    Mike Tyson
    Pascual Perez
    Sonny Liston
    Jung Koo Chang

Marcel IS great, in skillset and opposition.

Retired too early, but did enough/fought enough/beat enough (Arguello and, from what I've heard Shibata) top fighters to prove his worth IMO.

Marcel would beat all 3 of the great Mexicans IMO.

The Duran stoppage is worse than Benitez-Leonard IMO. I had Duran up by one rounds going into the final session.

Yeah, at the same time, too. :good

Pintor would have outclassed Morales at 122lbs also, and I'd favor Zarate to move up two divisions and knockout the Barrera of '01.

I guess the referee couldn't wait another minute to give the decision to Duran.
