I always love the in- depth reviews you give:good Just get straight to the good bits:happy VIC VIC VIC !!
Took about 8 replays until we finally saw the punch land on the button, until then was wondering how Vic knocked him out with a shot to the chest.
Nor Rojas head hitting the canvas didn't help much either... I'll get shot down for saying it, but whilst the shot was big from Vic (big kudos) and where he hit him would take the wind out of anyone, Rojas head whacked the canvas and you actually see him with his glove holding his head whilst down at one point. I reckon that had just as much effect, if not more. Rojas was easily winning the 2nd round before that.
I was reading elsewhere (good judges who have seen plenty of Vic) that he looked sloppy and the end is getting near for Vic. We'l see what he has left I guess?
Take a look at youtube, the whole fights on there. Your a good judge PJ, check it out for yourself. He was in big danger of getting caught again like Donaire did to him. Props for the shot though and all you can do is win, but wasn't impressive, it was luck.
I don't know why everybody is saying it was a body shot.It was clearly to the chin, however Rojas did lean into it. Rojas had some success tagging vic throughout the fight, but Vic still did look pretty impressive. It seems nobody is able to take Vic's shots. He has been working on increasing his power through a conditioning trainer, and been sparring with Zab .
33 is pretty old for a 115 fighter. His power keeps him in any fight, but he looked a little slower today imo. Rojas was tall and awkward. A Donaire rematch will tellus more.
Can't teach an old dog new tricks, Vic will be dangerous for years to come. But fast moving agressive punchers like Donaire will always spell trouble for Vic.
