Victor Ortiz’s Dilemma: Get outboxed or Force risky exchanges

2 THINGS:

1) What fighter A does to fighter B has no bearing on what will happen to fighter C. Not sure why some of you consistently forget this axiom.

2)FLoyd is so relaxed in the ring I can't remember the last time he threw a Hail-mary, which is basically what Peterson was doing to Ortiz there.

 

its usually true if fighter a and c have 2 different styles, peterson is a poor mans floyd.

Peterson fights like Floyd except a bit more rawer, he is a boxer-counter puncher.

Ortiz was the bigger man against Peterson, if you remember Ortiz weight 160+ going into the Peterson fight, a fight at 140.

So my point still stands, if Peterson was rocking Ortiz, countering him to death, and outboxing him by touching him with the jab, what makes you think Floyd can't implement that plan even better.

 

Their styles might be similar but not their mentalities. If put in a similar predicament you can bet Floyd will not be standing there throwing those shots.

I doubt it. Floyd has shown when he is comfortable he has no problem letting his hands go, check out the De La Hoya fight.

he couldnt hurt baldo no matter what thats why he went on his bike ortiz doesnt have baldos chin and will be hurt from punches.

 

Funny how Lamaont was doing good when being a boxer puncher and coming forward because whenever he was going back and trying to be defensive and counter it wall all ortiz... when faced with adversity he would attack and trow bombs like a real fighter instead of running ang getting on his bike, Ortiz will do good If may tried to fight him backwards.

I would love to see Mayweather push forward and not fight Ortiz backwards as that will be the end of him. Seeing how may fights now, not in his thirties I don't think he will be thorwing Hail mary's but will be running on his bike trying to not get hit, and allowing victor the chance to catch him big.. and he will..

I think that is what he is going to do, he likes to press southpaws instead of being on the defensive, this will get the action going and leave Vic more open to counters because he will be trying to engage more.
