The fight hasn't started yet, Pride. But all the Kessler fans are very relaxed and are now looking forward to the fight, I think. The Viking is going to get you - you can't hide Joe. :smoke :smoke :smoke

    ????

My statement was just that I cannot foresee Kessler working enough to win a points decision - to me that's the only certainty in this fight.

Why not? If it's going to be a jabbing contest mixed up with other goodiess and if Kessler can stay of the robes and make the fight in the middle of the ring - he may well be able to take it. :bbb

If people honestly think that JC is going to lose this fight by getting would up are fools. If he loses this fight it's because Kessler fought better. Calzaghe has been around long enough not to get beat by himself.

...if he is up for it, as he is now, yes...but remember Bika...when Joe wasn't up for it.

Anyone who knows anything at all about Calzaghe is certain that these are the fights that he raises his game for (and needs to).

If you think this will be a jabbing contest for more than 1-3 rounds, you're deluded or you've not seen enough of Calzaghe. Joe pounces on inaccurate jabs. Even you must admit that even Kessler misses every now and then when he throws a jab. Joe is all about making his opponents pay when they throw and miss. Go on youtube, watch any fight, if Calzaghe isn't pressing the action he'll wait until something inaccurate is thrown and that's when he moves in, giving him time to throw two or three punches and get out.

Kessler's jab is very good, but there's no way Joe's face stays at the end of it all night, he's just far too..... good for that.

I remeber seeing photos of the Kessler-Beyer fight and thinking to myself that Beyer just didn't seem to want to even be there. Kessler had a confident (almost evil) smile on his face and was looking straight at Beyer who himself was turned away.

Whereas with this fight, it seems to be about even. Lacy was all arrogant and whatnot in the lead up to their fight and as soon as he got to Britain, he seemed to fall apart. Kessler looks focused and ready. Full of self confidence, just like JC. Very interesting to look at.

Yep, this is the first time I've ever seen an opponent look so cool, focused and ready as Kessler does. He's impressed me a lot in the build up to this fight. I don't think the occasion will get to him at all which bodes well for him - he's got ice in dem viking veins! There will be no excuses for either boxer.

Exactly. I doubt Kessler will freeze like Manfredo did or get intimidated like Lacy. He's got belief in himself and his skills and rightfully so. He'll have enough of his own fans their to give him some show of support but aside from them, i'd imagine he'll be too focused on the fight itself to worry about the noise the fans make. If he starts worrying about that, then he's lost.

I still think Calzaghe wins a comfy ud. What I think will get to Kessler, mentally, is when he feels himself losing the rounds. As they slowly creep by and he knows he's behind, then we may see him start to do stupid things.
