Yes I had Floyd winning every round, but he wasn't letting his hands go as much as he was in that gif. All I was saying is Floyd was going to get Ortiz hurt more in the following rounds and give us more beautiful combinations like that on Ortiz.
You dont have any evidence that supports that notion at all. It could've but Mosley was washed up and on a 3 fight losing streak. Canelo hasnt even been on PPV so how could he help that much? It had more to do with Cotto than Canelo....Cotto is the 3rd biggest ppv draw in boxing.
He needn't of headlined a PPV to of garnered a large following. How much he actually brought to the event is still just speculation at this point. How much dangling a Pacquiao fight as being next influenced buys is also speculation. We'll find out after Saturday. Actually, he was on the undercard. That was also one of the best promoted fights of all-time and one in which everyone wanted to see at the time. Nobody gives a **** about Robert Guerrero and this fight isn't coming close to matching 1.4 imo.
dog, look how they promoted the fight. Obviously GBP thought this would help the sales. Casuals will look at this fight and see 4 familiar names on the poster. and Canelo is still a big draw despite not being on his own ppv This content is protected
You are correct he was on that card. My mistake see I forgot he was on that card. He fought Cottos brother....see I didnt even remember that fight. But he wasnt as popular in 2010 so there is no way he brought anything to the table as far as PPV buys. My fault fellasatsch...those posts last night were after about 15 Saki bombs at the sushi spot...:tired
yeah, no way this fight gets to Mosley or Cotto territory. This is going to be closer to Marquez and Ortiz. and I'm glad you brought up the Pacquiao fight prospect. I was afraid that since Pacquiao got knocked out it'd hurt sales. People would buy both of their fights thinking the mega fight was next. Pacquiao fans would tune in, to kinda scout Floyd or see what the big fuss was about this Mayweather guy. Idk if that'll be an issue or not though
I agree he is a big draw but we cant measure his PPV draw skills unless he actually headlines a PPV. Now do I think he would do great? Yes, but I cant honestly say otherwise until there is data to support that. I think he should fight Cotto on PPV later this year.
I agree and Id like to see Floyd go back to the Gatti fight "form" as well. I actually enjoyed the sucker punch KO. The Tree got chopped down, deservedly
Yeah, it's all good. This thread has been a trip though: You're arguing with literally two of the biggest Floyd fans on the entire forum We're not trying to get at him in any type of way. I'm just skeptical about this event based on how it's felt so far, as well as there being some new factors that weren't previously in play (network switch, Guerrero's lack of popularity, Canelo absent, Pacquiao KTFO, etc.) It isn't any single one of them on it's own, though. I initially predicted 1.1 and that would honestly be amazing given the circumstances (Alvarez did that kind of viewershop and it was on Regular SHO - 'free' with a subscription).
Who are you to question how many more punches Floyd needs to throw vs anyone, especially Ortreez. He landed 48% of his power shots, and a 6 punch combination that landed in a matter of 1.5 seconds which hasnt beem done since compubox was invented. GOAT, Mayweather let Cotto hit him cuz he was being nice and wasnt even really bleeding from the nose, that was all just for promoting his next PPV on Cinco De Mayo cuz hes the biggest draw in boxing, not just boxing but all of sports, he could sell out the Alamadome fighting Danny Garcias twin sisters and Canelo or the other 2 cards featuring latinos would have nothing to do with that. Ur just mad cuz i got a Wordpad/compubox article scientifically proving that Floyd doesnt even get hit in fights and that he lands a punch when he wants to land a punch cuz nobody tells him what to do, hes his own boss and ur still going to watch must see tv featuring two mexicans on the co-main but dont gst it twisted cuz this aint Birdo.
There was really nothing groundbreaking about this "documentary". Most of the material was too current and you can't really tell someone's life story in 45 minutes, anyway. It felt more like a Mayweather promo.
Youre keeping me relevant, whether you say good or bad about me, its letting me know im still relevant. Theres no blueprint. Latinos work, segregation!
I got yhe time to watch it after. The bits about his childhood and starting boxing were interesting butbnothing much we didnt know before. It did have the feel ofbpromoting the fight a bit esp in the second half. I can thibk of better and worse ways of spending 45mins
