sorry if youve already seen it ... i was just wondering what you guys thought technique wise...

He wastes a lot of energy by moving too much too bouncy. I would say he looks like a reletively inexperienced boxer but has good potential. in this video he looks pretty green in that he makes a lot of rookie mistakes and doesnt throw his punches properly or sit down on them. If he stuck boxing, he probably would have improved though over time with the right trainer.

 

hes decent, but hes a mover and i can see alot of people not liking his style.i think hes ok, but he was fighting a bum.in boxing he would fight at light heavy and i think he could do ok.dont know if he would get a major title but he would do ok.he is the only mma fighter with decent boxing skills i think.

bj and to bad either but what does that say by frankie.man those guys suck at boxing.anderson would translate to a maybe b level fighter MAYBE.

He is a natural. His reactions are excellent. Considering he is coming late to the sport, he actually looks pretty good.
Obviously he has a lot of technical flaws. Wasted movement, generating power, lazy jabs, etc. He moves side to side well but his head movement is limited.

If he took on the sport at a young age, he would be a top 3 in a given weight class, probably even a champion.

 

Did you by chance happen to find his KO loss.

 

Yeah saw it before. From what I remember, he looked better than his small opponent, but that's not saying much. He seemed a bit slow though... Decent looking fighter, just nothing too amazing imho...

 

In mma I know that he's been submitted twice. He's been knocked out in boxing tays001?

He had a really nice walking away jab that knocked out Forest Griffen. Something that you usually never see in mma.

 

the story goes he tried boxing first ...lost his first match and won his second.

im not pretending hes the worlds greatest striker but this was a long time ago. his striking is 100x better since then. his accuracy is phenominal.

seriously if you arent a mma fan and you just like to see good stand up fights watch anderson silva. some of the stuff he pulls withing the context of mma is immense.

he has a lot of nutthuggers and i aint trying to be one of them but he deserves his props for his striking within the context of mma.

He struggles to fight in the pocket me thinks. He's a rangey guy who in close would turn to grappling, muay thai clinch, elbow or step off to kick etc Fighting in the pocket, off the ropes etc won't be his strong points and the nuances would take alot of practice.

 

are you taking the ****? how can you judge from that, that if he would of took it up earlier that he would be top 3 or CHAMPION!

 

Based on his athleticism I have seen from his MMA matches yes he can be a champion. And not like grabbing a belt is that hard. Berto is holding a belt. It is not that hard to fathom a natural gifted athlete like Silva could beat Berto if he focused on boxing during his youth instead of other martial arts.

 

He would need allot of work before he could hang with a top 20 light heavy not to mention beat a title holder.
