Love him or hate him at least he's the top fighter right now that can bring the biggest most exciting fights and that should be appreciated at least. As far as attracting fans is concerned, he's getting better and better at it and it's damn obvious, there is no way in hell that Hatton is the reason to all the attention/attraction towards this fight, Floyd plays a major role as well, it's more 50/50.

What a load of complete garbage. Floyd needs Hatton?, if he needed him he wouldn't have moved on after being turned down TWICE by Hatton and still make big fights(Judah, Baldomir, DLH). It's Hatton who needs Mayweather and he realised he needs him more than ever after Mayweather's win over DLH. If PBF can't draw **** then this fight will get as much attention as Hatton's fight with Collazo or Castillo, did those fights sell-out within 30 minutes?

Doubt it, he has said a lot worse to others before. That's his way of selling it, if it has attracted to you and many others(clearly) then it's a success.

People watch Floyd for his skills and his ranking as p4p. I don't think his trash talk is even that marketable in the way Hamed or other showman's was. I think he'd get MORE viewers if he wasn't such a ghetto ******.

He's a good fighter, and if that's all you care about, fine.

But the guy is an ******* by anyone's standard. And if you can't at least understand why people feel that way about him, I don't know what to tell you. Most of us like our sports heros to be honorable men as well as elite performers.

Mayweather's not from the 310 or 213 for that matter. So who gives a ****?

Since the majority call him "boring" I would assume that they tune in to watch him get knocked out cold(thanks to his trash talks/press conference attitude) rather than admire skills the majority know **** about. PBF fans tune in for his skills, haters(way more than his fans, obviously) tune in to see him get knocked out and if that doesn't happen then the fight is "boring to death as usual". What suckered them to buy the fight?, PBF's trash-talk and the hope to see it end.

I don't think his number for PPV are all that better than Roy Jones, who didnt talk much trash, aside from the Hoya fight. And Oscar is the one who sold that fight, not him. So I don't think it's really all that successful of a formula. I don't know of a single person in my peer group who's said "hey, let me plunk down 50 bucks to see Floyd Mayweather get knocked out." He's not like Ali in that regard. If Floyd's gates are increasing, it's just because he's fought more high profile guys the past few years like gatti, judah, and Oscar. Before, he was basically only fighting guys hardcore fans would know about.

Every time. Every single time. I guess there really is a sucker born every minute.
Let these guys hype the fight the way they want to.
Floyd is not gonna all of a sudden be the good cop and Ricky the bad cop.
These guys have had their public personas in place long before they signed to fight each other.
I could have written their scripts for them.
If you think I'm just talking watch this
    After the fight
Hatton "He was just too fast he's a great fighter. He's fast"
Mayweather "I gotta give Ricky credit I knew he was tough I knew he would give me a good fight" But I'm the best fighter in the world.
Don't get upset about what you see in pre fight hype. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that these guys don't even write this stuff themselves

The animosity Floyd shows towards Hatton is obviously just hype. But his basic personality IS like that. I've no problem with him selling a fight. But when you're not hyping a fight, and you're STILL being an *******, as in 24/7 *******, why should I root for you?

Ali was cocky but was good to the people around him, basically. Floyd throws fistfuls of cash at people he hires like he's literally royalty, makes moronic shitty rap music, and in general just perpetuates ghetto nonsense and ignorance. I don't see why Scar likes PBF so much because he's exactly the same as James Toney, he just doesn't show up fat.

Also, Floyd is NOT getting "better and better." With each class he's gone up in, he's looked more and more vulnerable. Although still quite precise technically, his footspeed is nowhere near as great as it once was and his power, which was never great anyways, isn't hurting guys at 154 and up very much at all. He damned near lost to a very faded Oscar. PBF is still a great fighter but he's already on the decline. This happens to them all as they rise in weight. A guy like Vernon Forrest, or anyone with decent quicks and a good jab at this weight, would give him major, major issues.

I don't think that he's on the decline, the reason to why his speed is not similar to what it used to is because of the rise in weight, his power was dangerous enough to stun the likes of Castillo and drop Corrales, maybe the rise in weight didn't improve his power either. He's in his prime in my opinion, the Baldomir fight proved that his speed is still dangerous enough to trouble anyone, looked quite similar to the fight against Gatti there as well with his speed. A 100% focused old Oscar can give anyone hell, the experience/power/size difference did make the fight damn close, not to forget that it was Floyd's first fight at the weight and against a legendary fighter. You can't expect to look absolutely perfect and always winning one-sidedly when you fight top fighters.
