My guess is that was pre arranged, whenever they do "reporter vs grappler" it ends with a choke out.

 

He seems like a bit of an ass. Looks like a big version of my instructor actually.

This reporter always mixes it up with fighters and takes his beating. The tapping look real and he was real close to passing out.
