He's getting paid that whats he supposed to say... Khan hasn't delivered since Marcos and that to he barely passed it.
Hunter seems like a sensible guy who knows his stuff, but in this particular interview I disagree with him. Yes, all fighters get hit (even defensive masters) but Khan was floored from a left hook by Gomez early in his career, then he was seriously hurt by one in the Prescott fight (it was that punch which basically led to the KO) and then he was once again seriously hurt by a left hook from Garcia, which again paved the way for a KO loss. In two of those cases, which were also the ones where he was KO'd (Garcia and Prescott) Khan was caught in a similar way -- he came forward, throwing his own punches, and the opponent punched at the same time, hitting him with the left hook while Khan's right glove was low. Now, when you see him getting hit by left hooks while he's in the midst of throwing against Molina...does Hunter really think that isn't a cause for concern, given what has happened so far in Khan's career? I think he must see it, but he just wants to keep people from criticising Khan too much.
Khan would've got KOed by peterson if he didn't constant put Lamont in a headlock, shoving, pushing, running, fouling.
Lamont shouldn't have even been in the ring though (with his pills he had implanted in his leg by a non personal private Vegas doctor)
Not to forget Craig "Couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat" Watson in the Amateurs. For those who are fans of the chicken dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qBRAmjDXWU
I was ready to hate as soon as I read the topic title but I have to admit, Virgil is a smooth talker. Can't deny it. He makes some good points too so one of those times when I have to admit someone stopped me from savage hating.
