Yeah Steward's point was all this 'pad work' is ruining the sport. The video is on youtube go and watch it. Hard sparring and heavybag work is where you get better not slapping at some pads. atsch
U must be trolling! u are one of the most uneducated ignorant posters out there, embarassing what you've wrote, go back takes notes and read what myself and another poster BLADE 2 have posted, or go to gym and actually do boxing cus its clear you have never put a pair of gloves on in :verysad ur life!
I guess you cant even see the difference of throwing with power, i guess it all the same for you so you see Kovalev punching with power on pads:nut
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaNhcBAazB0&list=UUTPYlGL6oOmrLA3MsBwBDjA Anyone can hit the bag u moron and think there hitting it hard the pads is basically like a real fight in stance in the ring and using footowrk and blocking, the bag doesn't hit u back, u hit the pads as hard as u can with the best technique you can, u are an absolute moron BTW this is the last lesson for today remember take notes or to a gym and fight instead u might learn a thing or to u dont train to not hit hard, u want everthing speed power movement everything u dont want one thing to be missing, u dont train on the pads lazy and not punch hard because ur body will remember that in the fight and its wrong
oh great another interent troll who has never laced em up, ur input means a lot lol, take it from the cuban olympic team the most technical team in the world and every trainer in the world! what im saying is true and what u think is rubbish chavez jr was trained on the mitts by his father for years before he started boxing to develop his power, ricky hatton, every boxer in the world u are the most ignorant uneducated moron iv ever come across!
Some seasoned pros want to protect their hands which have become vulnerable. They do not hit the pads hard all the time. That is fine, they have learned their craft. Clearly, you learn power and technique by doing the mitts from a young age. How else you would learn it? The trainer will correct you on balance, angles to make sure you develop proper and full power.Steward taught Hearns like that. Trinidad Sr taught his son that way. Another example, see Vargas below doing mitts in full combat mode.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yieoRohJbfg After reading some of your ignorant comments , I am sure you must have never laced up a pair of gloves in your life or been in a street fight
Fact unbelievable how ignorant some people are just shows they've never been to a decent gym ever! keyboard kings!
bro..mitts is where it all happens !!! you can get real personal with your fighter, direct his every move/punch, and correct it on the spot while seeing what his opponent is going to see and feel...... log off now
Read my posts you idiot, I said it is the most important thing in training with sparring but it isnt specific work out for power at all, it as more for technique and as you wrote so your trainer can pick up bad habits and make you get rid of them but it isnt power punching training, accuracy combination punching balance reaction time etc are all over power when it comes to pads.
WTF? i just realized you came from montenegro . They can continue to teach you that crap back there. :hat
